Private Horizon Dawn

Home. It wasn't her own but Rishi was home for many, from the Rishii species to the ones who had colonized it, Humans and otherwise. It was a hot planet, but it left little wonder as to why others had come here as Vayla Mirana’s vessel broke the atmosphere. The Star’s Sanctum was her home away from home, but today she would make this other place her escape and haven, even if she was on a mission.

Breaking the sky, the Pantoran’s eyes roamed over Rishi’s scope, taking in the sights. Mountainous peaks clawed toward her from beneath, great monoliths roaring upwards, with leagues of trees sprawling into the horizon, flanked by swampland. She could not help but smile in her cockpit.

Her freighter flew onward, downward, becoming a pinprick on the horizon to a full-fledged starship flying high above an island, furthering her descent. Golden beaches curved beneath, hills curling upward, while canyons peppered the expanse of lush verdant land.

Horizon Island. It deserved the name as far as Vayla was concerned. Spotting her quarry, Star’s Sanctum came in and brought the dawn with her. Sunlight brightened the sky, shining upon an array of farms on the perimeter of greater civilization. Out here, she had learned, life was more primitive and private, crops abundant, variety vibrant, yet the wildlife was particularly dangerous.

Having been sent as one Jedi delegate of two, Knight Mirana’s role was to investigate a growing frequency of beasts harassing the local livestock. That sounded trivial at first, until the Jedi learned that one of the farmers, an untrained Force-sensitive, had gone missing, chasing after a rumor. Whatever was going on, Vayla was not going alone.

Setting down her ship, Vayla exited the cockpit, descended the ramp and took in the warm air. It was a little cooler where the beaches were closer if still a ways out, with a nice breeze blowing in, and even if she’d begin to sweat she had the outfit for weather like this. Robes in the ship, the Pantoran adjusted her backpack as she stood in a white tanktop and grey pants, a hand over her eyes as she waited for her companion for this mission to arrive.
