redemption
rɪˈdɛm(p)ʃ(ə)n/
noun
noun: redemption; plural noun: redemptions

1. the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil.”The Dark Jedi was redeemed for their previous actions.”
Corvus headed to the hangar on Ossus. It was situated close to the Academy and carved out of the side of a cliff. It always made for a memorable first landing at the Republic’s primary Jedi training centre.

So many Dark Jedi were seeing the Light recently and Corvus had been assigned to meet one to discuss joining the Order, for they wished to work entirely for the greater good.

Of course such conversations invariably revealed previous misdemenaours, but Corvus’ philosophy was consistent — it was where they were headed rather than where they had been that mattered most.

So she pulled her cloak tight around her body against the cutting wind that had sprung up and quickened her pace — it would not do for the Jedi to arrive without being greeted formally.

Redemption a word used by hero's and great names to describe a come back but for her it ment crawling out of a pit of darkness, a pit that existed inside her mind between to voices both trying to pull her each way causing her to go slowly insane

She sat in the hangar or more less was told not to leave the hangar after landing her starfighter, 'guards' stood to watch her, not like if she was going to do something would they stop her bit that would defeat the purpose of coming to such a place

She checked the time sighing as she looked around for the Jedi

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

Corvus frowned slightly at the sight of guards. She was here to meet a guest, not a prisoner.

The facial expression was slight but it had the desired effect. The staff sergeant in command of the squad knew Corvus and nodded almost apologetically. With a small hand gesture, the other troopers followed him as he departed the hangar, Corvus bowed to them as they walked past before turning her attention to the star-fighter – or more accurately its occupant.

Her face transformed into a kind and gentle smile and she bowed to the Twi’lek before speaking. “stardust I presume? I am Corvus. Welcome to Ossus and the Jedi Academy. Tell me, how can I help you?”

[member="stardust"]

She had her arms crossed when she felt the Jedi before she entered, she stood up fully watch her enter and dismiss the guards with a frown

You know at least tea would've been nice"she said sarcastically but jokingly

She bowed to the Jedi and let a smile come to her face" yes I am stardust a pleasure to meet you in..such a short notice."she said and then sighed frowning a bit as she walked back and forth from the side of her ship"as of late I've noticed the sith growing in numbers and wanted to join the Jedi..... But another thing befo-"she was cut off by a sharp headache causing her to put a hand to her head, the darn voice wouldn't just give up would it, sighing she brought her hand down"my...mind is fractured... I keep hearing two voice both pulling me either which way.....I need help"three words she never said lightly unless needed"and I know only the hedi can help me

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

Corvus listened and was about to offer some tea when she heard the Twi’lek’s call for help.

“My sister has some expertise when it comes to voices in your head. I had a sliver of a Sith Holocron gatekeeper’s essence in my head for a few years. And she pulled it out. I won’t pretend it didn’t hurt, but then I wasn’t in the pain you’re clearly in – so I suspect the discomfort will be worth it.”

And suddenly the prospect of tea seemed entirely sensible. “Ask for [member="Taeli Raaf"] and she will be able to help you, I’m sure. But for now, let’s head into the Academy. You can have that cup of tea you desire and we can chat.”

She smiled. “For I suspect you’ve come to ask for more than just a cup of tea.”

[member="stardust"]

She nodded listening , she would love for the pain to just end and get rid of the sleepless night or night mares that haunt her"there two voices but when is good its just.....they seem to be trying to play tug of war with me both trying to sway my mind to either side

She nodded"I'll contact her as soon as we finish with tea and chatting, can't be rude to the one who is helping"for a dark Jedi she didn't seem to dark

I've come for forgiveness, a home , a place o can finally settle down in and stay.....I'm tired of jumping from person to person.....I'm tired of war but I know I must fight on*shs said ranting
[member="Corvus Raaf"]

Corvus listened and empathised. She felt the genuine remorse and a desire to do the right thing and would do all in her power to make it happen.

By the time [member="stardust"] had finished speaking, they had reached the canteen. Corvus ordered tea and took a seat at a vacant table in the corner.

“Now, I may have some questions – but it’s easier for you to tell me what you think I need to know, and we take it from there. But I’ll start with a suggestion. The person that needs to forgive you most of all is you. I can provide the other things, but redemption starts from within. It always does.”

[member="stardust"]

She sat down hand in her hands rubbing her head*what you need to know are my crimes, what I've done against the to and its allies

She said with a sigh as she took a sip of her tea holding the warm cup within her hands listening to [member="Corvus Raaf"], how could forgive herself her crimes the people she's killed for money "how can I do that, I've helped with genocide murder ivr killed thousands

Corvus remained impassive. She held her emotions in check deliberately.

"I am not suggesting what has passed is excused, or acceptable or easy to understand. What I am saying - however - is that what you do from this point on is vital. That is in your control, what went before is not."

"There was a man...little more than a boy really. Had scant Jedi training and with one act he killed approximately a million. He was called a hero. Circumstances say he still was. But to the families of those on board the Death Star? How many millions of people suffered as a result of one push of a button? I'm not suggesting what he did was wrong - don't misunderstand me. But perspective is a wonderful thing. He second guessed many of his actions for the greater good. But he did what he thought was right at the time."

"What I need to know now. What you need to focus on...is what you'll do next. Past crimes are past crimes. I do not have the authority to wipe them from the record books. But every life you save from this point on? It makes a big difference to how the past is remembered. That boy redeemed his father - and he killed millions more. But his son forgave him because he knew he could be turned to the Light. Never forget that."

@stardust

She nodded listening to the Jedi speak hands still go her face, true her actions wouldn't be excused and she accepted this, for this is what would happen

I've heard such a story....believe it was a Skywalker wasn't it?"she said smiling her mood almost improving some

What I'm doing next is riddkng the sith from the galaxy.....down to the last one"she said looking at [member="Corvus Raaf"] with a serious look

Of course...and I'm willing to stand trial against my crimes if necessary "she said calming down some

Corvus paused before answering, and she took her time when speaking, to ensure what she had to say was understood.

“I am a Jedi. There is, perhaps surprisingly, nothing in the Code or its tenets about the Sith. I am here to be a peace-keeper. To protect the weak and innocent and to ensure the greater good is upheld.”

“Yes…Sith are a constant challenge to all I stand for, but I do not single them out. Slave traffickers, criminal gangs, terrorists, mass murderers. These all represent the evil we combat on a daily basis.”

“If I told you that you may never face a Sith, would you still wish to be a Jedi? For if the answer is no, I would question your motivations.”

“But if you are sincere about turning to the Light, you will not need to stand trial, it is within my gift to ensure it happens.”

[member="stardust"]

She buried her hands again shaking her head, she knew she needed to change she knew that for her to transition over she needed to let all chains loose and focused on all evil

Both sides have caused me pain....my left arm lost to a Jedi and the right to a sith....I've lost my home naboo to them .....which has my memory's there....you can see why I single them out....however if it is to be a Jedi I will release all holds on focus on the greater evil

She said looking up as the voice howled in distress and was trying to stop her

Then you have my answer I will become a Jedi and fight all evil....not just the sith"she then looked around and leaned in"you must promise me one thing though

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

Corvus could sense the inner turmoil – and was sure her sister would be able to help the young woman. But that didn’t help the here and now.

So she listened patiently as the would-be Jedi came to a decision. One she would help to ensure came to fruition with any help she could.

To let go the anger towards the Sith was a significant start, one that Corvus could see was causing her pain. The fact she did it despite the suffering made it all the more valid.

And finally Corvus too leaned in. “What is it you need of me,” she said, her voice calm and soft.

[member="stardust"]

She looked to the Jedi with serious yet tires eyes

My husband is a dark Jedi....I want him safe from any trouble......I ask that because he is the only one keeping me together.... Without him you'd have me in a cell trying to fix my mind

She said looking directly at the Jedi

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

[member="stardust"]

Corvus looked into stardust's eyes. "Your husband. What do you need? To have him brought to the Republic? To be with you? This we can arrange I am sure. I presume he wishes to follow the Light-side too?"

She was not prepared to over-promise. The life of a Jedi was a precarious one, but she would do all within her power to keep the two together.

[member="stardust"]

She sighed and shook her head"for him to come back into the light would mean I'd have to help him....he trust no Jedi but me for many reasons...if you can allow us a private area away from the Jedi but still under your eye I do wish to bring him here to help him"she paused getting her breath"I know some things you can make happen but this is all I ask

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

Corvus nodded as stardust spoke.

“There are always possibilities.” She remembered the former Shadows headquarters – it had an abundance of rooms including sleeping quarters and was far enough from the Academy to avoid prying eyes. Giving the couple access temporarily was relatively straightforward.

“I can organise a place for you both to stay for as long as you need. It will be close enough that I am on hand if you need me, but far enough to offer you privacy.”

“And if you need a ship, just ask.” Corvus smiled and took a large sip of her tea. “And my offer of help is indefinite. Whatever you need, whenever you need it. Just ask. That is what I’m here for.”

[member="stardust"]

She bowed her head"thank you thank you very much

She smiled one that she hadn't smiled in some time"a ship ha-ha no no no I've got my ship and my husband....would it be possible to bring a freighter in"she said drinking her tea seeming much more happier

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

"A freighter?" Corvus seemed genuinely surprised. "The spaceport here is designed for small ships - it serves only the Academy. It depends how large your freighter is? Usually larger ships are left in orbit and freight transported in smaller vessels - given our needs are modest. What do you need that would need to bring that would be so large?"
