Homeward Bound [Aafke]

Kervo was on a personal mission. He found himself aboard a passing freighter that was hauling salvage to Mahan, the planet where his goal was. For quite some time now, Kervo was in search of a breed of dogs that him and his family would use as companions and war beasts. He had recieved a tip from a smuggler regarding a caravan carrying pups of this dog breed exclusive to the planet.

Kervo had never recieved a bad tip from this contact before, so he acted swiftly.

Kervo was sitting in the cargo hold atop a small metal crate, looking through some old newspaper for nothing in particular. He was just looking to pass the time until he reached Manan. As he read, he hummed a melody to himself. If one were to be listening in, they'd think it were a pretty heavy song by the way he was humming.

Space ships had never been her favorite place to be. It wasn't flying, nor nausea nor even her otherwise slightly claustrophobic nature...it were the engines. Even if for others it was just a constant, distant humming she felt as though her ears were being slammed by millions of little hammers hour after hour. Of course the discomfort started to grow dull over time, that didn't mean it made her any more happy about it.

Aafke had already acknowledged that her hearing was both a blessing and terrible curse, one that was starting to give her a slight headache, putting her in a worse mood if that was even possible. Today was an important day for her. She was finally visiting, after so many years, the planet in which she had come to life. She wasn't excited nor anxious, the Mahanaim knew very well her home waited her return, in Zanbar to her clan and her father, not the one that brought her to life but the one who gave her one, it didn't matter if their blood was not the same.

Standing in between tall crates she was hard to find, Aafke had always had that tendency of remaining partially hidden, as though she awaited for someone in particular to unknowingly pass by so that she could prey on him. Or maybe she simply didn't like general people. However, her aching ears soon caught the sound of a hummed tune. For a second she had though she recognized the sound, but even if in the end she concluded in was unknown to her, her green, patterned eyes still fell on the man who was producing the noise. It didn't take a second look to tell he was one of hers. Mando'ade.

Taking a step forward, showing herself more Aafke gave a short nod and greeted the man, "Su cuy'gar, vod".

Kervo took his eyes off of the paper and looked at the woman speaking to him. She spoke in Mando'a so he knew that she knew what he was. And she was one of him also. [Hello, sister.] he replied in Mando'a. Kervo threw the paper he was reading to the side and hopped off the crate to at least be respectful when talking to a fellow Mando'ade. [You going to Manan, too?] he asked. Kervo didn't know anyone else was on the freighter beside him. Especially another Mando'ade. A Mando'ade woman.
