Public Homegrown Garden

It was a typical 'day' in Denon's Midnight Zone - the sun was nowhere to be seen, the smog was thick enough that breathing masks were advisable to all who could afford them, and something monstrous was killing people without CorpSec doing diddly-squat. The only unusual aspect was that for once the 'monster' was an actual monster (or ten plus, but who counts), as opposed to the far more prolific human(oid) variety.

Well. These monsters were humanoid too. Mostly. Albeit of the brain-eating variety - and heavily mutated to boot.

All things considered, today was turning out to be subpar even by Midnight Zone standards, at least in this part of the unfathomably vast city-world. That meant someone might try to do something about it, or more likely profit off of it. Was there a niche market for 'vampire parts', somewhere?

OBJECTIVE ONE - Wolf Among Sheep.
A discreet message has gone out to mercenaries, bounty hunters, and even certain CorpSec officers. A woman is trying to hide among the local lowlifes, a woman of the brain-eating variety. Sith-Imperial connections, unethical experiments, and a no-questions-asked lump sum for any who deliver her head on a metaphorical silver platter - plenty of reason to want her dead. Just don't ask too many questions.
OBJECTIVE TWO - Bump in the Night.
The more charitably minded may be more concerned about the sudden surge of murders on Denon... a small part of it, that is. CorpSec can't be bothered to do anything unless it gets completely out of hand or spreads upwards towards the people who matter - someone's got to help.
OBJECTIVE THREE - Opportunism.
Say what you will about Denon, there's never a shortage of opportunities for those willing to get their hands dirty. Investigate (or rob) Binreth's now-abandoned laboratory, 'acquire' one of the mutated Anzati for your own purposes, or even help the injured, if you're a bleeding heart.

Public thread, better suited for criminals, mercenaries, and champions of righteousness than armies. Park your fleets in orbit, it's a long way down. It goes without saying, but the Objectives are guidelines more than anything else - if you want to do something wacky, you do you.

I strongly recommend making a note in your post if you're particularly open to random interactions - to those who aren't first, do scroll down. Who knows, maybe someone's doing something you'd love to get in on! (If you don't want randoms, note that too; this is a Public thread after all.)

P.S. This thread won't be DM'd or anything, but please don't kill everyone - particularly Binreth - in a single post. That'd be lame. Don't be lame.

Objective 1: Wolf Among Sheep
AG-77 processed the bounty that had gone out, committing its details to his memory banks. Seka Binreth. Anzati. Female. Former Sith-Imperial scientist. Dangerous? For a meatbag, perhaps. AG concluded that between his inorganic nature, his expertise, and a healthy helping of violence, those 10,000 Underworld Credits would be his.

The bounty hunting droid took to the streets as soon as the contract was accepted, his arrays of photoreceptors spinning rapidly, scanning the crowds for a match to the target's given description. With so many people it would take quite some time to identify a possible match, even for a superior droid such as himself.

Soon after he got the message, Sar had a chat with one of his supervisors, an acquaintance from his 'security' days.

CorpSec was no 'RAT', but there was still plenty of room for more discreet assignments. Especially if money changed hands. It was easy enough to be assigned to a patrol of the everlasting clusterfuck that was the lower levels - and easy enough to shed the uniform for something more discreet within moments of getting there. After all, law enforcement only went down here in two ways - in force or in disguise.

<Adjust search parameters to Besh-Thirteen. Street by street, focus on faces. Flag any ID's beyond ten percent certainty for manual review.> His own eyes drifted across the crowd, betraying no hint of the unspoken 'conversation' with the droids he employed as technological bloodhounds.

There would be other hunters after the same game. Depending on their predilections, they may well be a bigger threat than the mark herself - while he was not one to underestimate more predatory aliens, academics tended to make for inexperienced foes. Others like him, on the other hand...
