Classification: Industrial Plant
Location: Bespin, Cloud City, lower levels
Affiliation: Nationalised by The First Order
Description:
Cloud City has a variety of smaller incineration and recycling facilities spread across the floating city but by far the largest is The Hilikan Incineration Plant. A large structure employing hundreds of labourers, the Plant is made up of multiple floors which specialise in the break down and recycling of specific parts of the various droids, machinery, transports and starships sent there. Separate rooms and chambers contain dissembling machinery such as crushers and magma pits. Conveyor belts shifting large mounds of metal crisscross through the building, usually several meters above floor level. Hilikan has a reputation for mess with Junk piles commonplace throughout the facility and most surfaces stained with oil. In spite of that it is a relatively efficient Plant.
History:
Hilikan Industries built the Hilikan Incineration Plant to help resolve two problems facing Bespin. First, the amount of space junk orbiting the world was beginning to interfere with traffic and secondly, there was a growing problem with unemployed Ugnaughts. Both issues were solved as the Plant cut waste and gave blue collar jobs for workers. It did however lead to Hilikan Plant becoming a metaphor for hell to Bespin's droid population, it earned the nickname 'where droids go to die'.
Since the arrival of the First Order on Bespin, agents of the First Order Security Bureau persuaded the Hilikan Industries board of directors to kindly donate their factory to the state apparatus. Now nationalised, the Plant continues largely playing the same role as before though Ugnaught senior staff are being gradually replaced with humans. Discreetly, the Hilikan Incineration Plant is also now used to dispose of physical evidence of the First Order's less ethical dealings in the galaxy.
Intent: To flesh out Bespin and provide a location for role players to use
