The scars upon the hull spoke volumes about the horrid atmosphere she had been drawn to this time. Soliane's brilliant piloting skills being nigh on the same level as a Chiss sky-walker on spice. Yet, as she parked between two tall trees on the foreign planet, she chose to put her ship's damages in the back of her head, and move on with her mission. The ship's energy tracker had been drawn to this place, yet its sensors turned distorted as the nose of the cruiser entered the atmosphere. Her own scanner had been acting up only slightly, not tracing quite what the other tech had spotted.

In preparation, she grabbed her close-range energy scanner, putting it on her belt (where she had holstered her blaster gun too). She wore a simple blouse, with a vest over it covered in floral embroidery, and some flared garments. Her black hair had been weaved into a single braid, tight enough to keep out of her face for now.

With a vague sense of what may come, the Chandrilan left her spaceship, and set foot on Odessen's surface. The atmosphere was breathable, but anomalous, as if some strange formation of particles lingered in the air. Soliane's mind was uneasy, unable to concentrate on one point, without feeling as if something was with her. Something... foreign? Something... unknown. She had never fancied the word, it was such a nothing answer. Trying to force her mind away from it, Sol tried to move ahead to what looked to be an older temple. It wasn't grand, its pillars had been covered in moss and dirt. A true beacon of history in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps that was the reason why something felt off...

Alana stood at the tree line, arms crossed, her poncho shifting with the faint breeze as her eyes tracked Soliane's careful approach. Odessen wasn't a place you just stumbled into; not without something guiding your hand. Or, maybe, someone pulling strings you didn't even know were there. Maybe that was her own paranoia speaking. Needless to say, her own attempt to work out this weird sensation she was getting from the place was coming up with nothing. Maybe an extra pair of eyes would help.

"Hey there," Alana called out, her tone dry as smoke. The rifle slung over her shoulder shifted as she leaned against the trunk, head cocked slightly. "Not the best place to come hiking now, is it?"

She pushed off the tree, boots crunching on the mossy soil as her gaze slid toward the temple's silhouette. Her blue eyes flicked back to Soliane. "That place doesn't just sit here waiting for tourists. If you're headed inside, you'd better hope you've got a damn good reason. Otherwise…" Her hand brushed lightly against the grip of her pistol, not a threat so much as showing the woman she was armed. Alana was assuming this woman was capable, otherwise, why the hell would she come out this way? But you never knew with people now a days. "Well, you probably don't wanna stumbling in there."

Silence disrupted by an unforeseen call, a threat veiled as as a kind warning. For when Soliane's eyes gazed over her shoulder and noticed the flicker of white hair among the lush green forestry, she stopped in her tracks. A lightly unnerved smile climbing onto her lips as her hands gradually drew up in surrender or show of no hostility. "My business is only with the history guarded within this ruin, I mean no harm to it nor to you or... your people?" The Chandrilan sought to negotiate with the foreign party, noticing the cocked rifle as a constant reminder of imminent harm or death.

"Do you truly wish to sully this ground with my blood? Sully your conscience with it, so please... I beg of you to lower the rifle and allow us to talk." Sol frantically bargained, before gesturing towards the tomb, the energy around it was strange, and the sensation of that aura was likely not only limited to her. "I cannot alone feel the currents surrounding this place, can you at least tell me if there is something here? Or is it only my delusions?" A soft yet humorless chuckle escaped from her reddened lips. Praying that this stranger would not be so swift to judge her a hostile.

The stranger's tone was soft, pleading even, but that didn't wash away the edge of danger that hummed between them. White hair stirred faintly in the forest breeze as her sharp eyes studied Soliane, before securing her rifle to her back, letting it set snuggly in place.

"Well, guess you’re alright, name’s Alana by the way," Alana said at last, voice even trying to work down to a more casual tone. "I guess I was expecting some sorta Sith peole to show up and, you certainly aren’t them." She tilted her head slightly, eyes flicking from the raised hands to the ruin behind her. She probably was safe. Probably. "You're right about one thing though. There's something in the air. But I can’t make sense of it. It’s like, part of the problem really.”

She kept her rifle slung across her back, hand off the blaster now. Her tone finally hitting the casual tone she aimed for. "But yeah, been standing here not able to feel anything from that place."

She did reach out with the force, and try to make sense of the structure before her, though she garnered nothing from the effort. She wasn’t sure if it was her lack of experience, or something else.

Regardless, after a pause, her gaze returned to the woman. "Guess we can go and do a wellness check on an ancient site, what’s the harm?”

The mention of Sith, made her eyebrow quirk up, aghast. With their swirling dark robes and the red in their clothes, the floral pattern upon her own robes was the polar opposite of what any cultist might don. "Well if I looked a Sith to you, I might as well start a con." Soliane quipped lightly and lowered her raised hands, having been reassured that little harm could befall her at this instance. Alana's words spoke true about the aura of this region, it was tainted, as if the merest breath exposed one to poison. "Name's Soliane, something of an explorer... My scanner has been acting up ever since I left the ship, darting around as if it detects multiple energy sources. Or, an energy source spread wider over the region." She tried to explain something that remained unclear to her.

The historic temple lay before them, vines tracing up its pillars, moss scattered about. Had it not been for the eeriness which had tainted its presence, the place would almost appear serene. "Well, we could be consumed by madness and die a horrible death? Sounds like a pleasant way to go out." She mused and jumped over one of the piles of debris, and nigh on tripped over the others. The smile on her face refused to falter, expressing the joy she felt on the job. Once she found the entrance -- a set of stairs leading into the tomb -- she waited patiently for her 'partner' to catch up. "So, you are a sniper? Bounty hunter? Wait no, let me guess, smuggler?" Soliane's dark eyes darted over the Echani, her chin resting on her hand.

Alana followed at a measured pace, her weapons just left where they were. This woman was an ally it. The Echani moved like flowing water, each step deliberate, each breath steady. The contrast between her quiet precision and Soliane's enthusiasm was infectious enough to draw a sign of amusement to her lips.

"You've got a good energy to you, I like that." She said as she closed the distance, boots crunching softly over moss-covered stone. The woman seemed to know what she was doing. "If you were a Sith, then I’d be impressed. You are way too cheerful for that."

The remark about dying horribly did draw a laugh from Alana, as she merely nodded along.

“Been there done that, but I made it out the last time.”

At the mention of bounty hunter, smuggler, or sniper, her head tilted just enough to send a streak of white hair falling forward, eyes showing Echani sharpness. "Not the first time I've been asked that." Alana admitted, her voice carrying the hint of a smirk without showing it. "But no, I'm none of those. I mean my parents were smugglers, and I used to be a bounty hunters, and snipers, well, snipers usually don't come down from the ridge to walk into madness alongside strangers. I mean the bad ones get spotted so, kinda narrows it down ya know? Least I would hope.”

Her gaze lingered on Soliane a moment longer, as if weighing her worth against the danger of the temple ahead. Then, quietly, she added: "I mean, I used to be but I’m like, friendly hand to those that need it..sorta just wander around. This place just caught my attention."

She motioned to the structure that had drawn them to this planet, and looked to the woman. “So, we doing some exploring?”
