Just joined and looking forward to getting started in the army. Is there a process in terms of units/rank etc that I should read beforehand?

I'm Isamu, one of the OS admins and leader of the Army.

To start off, go to this thread and request a rank. I'm pretty generous with starting ranks, and let people go to Major (O-3) if they want.

We've also got an invasion going on here. It's a bit experimental, as we're just focusing on doing a story, and not PVP'ing with other people. So if you wanna try out some NPC Troop Battles without stress/drama, this is a good place to start.

We've got an Armory that lists all the vehicles, and weapons, that are available for use.
