Hestan Kantrael

I hope I got everything right ^^" Especially, I'm not sure about the ship, if it is justified enough and so on, so I'd like some feedback on that aspect in particular.

NAME: Hestan Kantrael, of Kiffar clan Kantrael.
FACTION: None so far
RANK: My own boss!
SPECIES: Kiffar.
AGE: 28.
SEX: Male.
HEIGHT: 1.90 meters.
WEIGHT: 85 kilograms.
EYES: Greenish.
HAIR: Light brown, kept almost clean shaved.
SKIN: Fair, very easy to get sunburnt. As a Kiffar, he has three diagonal face bands that show his allegiance to clan Kiffar.
FORCE SENSITIVE: Not directly, but being a Kiffar gave him the ability to perform basic psycometry on both inanimate and once-animate objects.

GEAR:
Space farer's suit: http://orig11.deviantart.net/6f1b/f/2013/166/f/8/destiny_hunter_render_by_keithjhe-d694gt5.png
A suit of almost armor that has been built with exploration in mind: it is flexible not to hamper movement as a heavy armor would, it provides better temperature shielding in order to afford longer period of exposure to the cold of the void or the scorching heat of deserts along with a limited supply of oxygen via the sealed mask and rebreather. Protection wise, its chestplate and articulation guards allow Hestan to survive small arms fire and shrapnel, although being pretty useless against blaster rifles. It also has a long dark cape and hood to protect the most delicate components in the helmet.
Heavy Blaster Pistol: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v480/chumpgoalie/ee-1.jpg
A heavy blaster pistol with a short telescopic sight he uses for short-to-medium range firefights. Depending on the situation, he tries to avoid using it although there are cases when its extra kick is more than needed.
Mechanic's Kit, Utility Belt, Blowtorch, various datapads with issues of different engineering and technology magazines, Electrobinocular and an average complexity Hacking suite programmed into a dapatad.

STRENGTHS:
Loyal Companion: clan childhood has paid off: Hestan is naturally gregarious and unwillingly tries to keep united whatever group he is going to find himself into.
Non-judgemental: Hestan tends not to voice his judgement on people, as to his policy of “live and let live”.
Overall Nice Guy: Hestan is not a champion of morality, but is always ready to help both friends and family, although he has very high friendship-judging standards.
Strong-willed: Hestan is usually a determined person in his dealings. When under fire or in a tense argument, he is likely to keep forging onwards.
Technical Knock: his upbringing was of the technological sort, learning the ways of machines, droids and smithing in his parent's workshop back on Kiffu. He can be very useful as military engineer, scavenger, weapons and armor maker and droid patcher and will be likely crafting his own gear or improving what he cannot build on his own.
Thrill of adventure: as both a person endowed with psycometry and a naturally curious one, Hestan is always on the hunt for wreckages, tombs, lost archaeological sites and, more generally, uncharted places in the starmap.

WEAKNESSES:
A bit off: spending much time alone in the deep void of space or in some sort of abandoned hole of history has its drawbacks, primarily the fact that he is accustomed to speaking out loud to himself while doing things if he does not have directly available companions or colleagues to talk to. This particular traits usually applies in crowds too.
I'm a bloody Engineer, not a grunt!: although working in a mechanics' workshop made him develop some of his physical potential, Hestan is not a warrior as he does not have the rigorous military training and murderous killing instinct. His reflexes are slower than those of the average trooper, his legs muscles are weaker than those of the torso and arms and henceforth. He is best employed as a pathfinder and reconnaissance, not on the front-lines of a war.
I'm a bloody man of science!: being a mechanic and an engineer, he finds tremendously hard to stand the religious people or those that do not manage to follow his rigorous reasonings, sometimes earning him the monicker of “callous” as he finds absolutely no problem in saying uncomfortable or downright “evil” things out loud.
The truth behind that is that he manages to split his personal beliefs from the facts and the “empirical evidence”, so that when he speaks science, tactics and the like it is not really him speaking but his “computer side”… a pity most people don't know that until he tells them.
Jumpy: being used to explore “lonesome places” he is used to keeping all of his senses tensed to the spasmodic level, being very easy to scare and make react in what, on his average, is “trigger-happy ways”.
Stubborn: yes, Hestan is determined to do stuff… but sometimes, he can be a little too much bent on something specific, be it track a space wreck that has reported being devoid of survivors or focus on making forcibly work a schematic of something.
APPEARANCE: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mFGN6rhEW64/maxresdefault.jpg
Kiffar clan tattoos aside, Hestan is a human through and through. He is in the top side of the height ladder, although he is not much more than that: his body is the one of a hard worker, neither a body builder nor a soldier. In addition to that, the upper half of his body is more developed than the lower one, and he tends to walk with a curious gait being used to move in the lack of gravity and vacuum.

BIOGRAPHY:
Hestan was born on Kiffex, to Leda Themar and Tal Kantrael, thus becoming part of Kiffar clan Kantrael. It is possible to say that his childhood was roughly normal, as it can be the one of a child living on a world renowned for its prison facility and growing in an artisan's workshop: he learned the craft and trade of bending metal and other materials to his will, frequently rummaging in the bellies of droids and speeders alike as his parents schooled him in the lore of the Kiffar traditions, gave a bare-bone training in his psycometric skills and generally watched over their son's clan life.
The reason because he is on the loose now is his deep thirst for knowledge, adventure and exploration: he wants to go places and see new things, items and phaenomena, to learn new schematics and, if possible, help the galaxy by doing that while getting involved the least possible in politics and the like, which he finds utterly out of every form of logic and, therefore, senseless.

SHIP:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_GfJ80fwgQ , http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=424666463&searchtext=id=423850316
The Long Run is conceived as an exploration vessel, ill-suited for extensive cargo management, protracted void fights. It is built with survivability, deep space operations and utility in mind, being geared with very cramped interiors to have the best room possible for his tools, gear, findings and spares still without sacrifing speed and maneuverability, better sensors to scan the surrounding areas and update the mainframe's starcharts and enough plating and shields to hold its own against the average pirate small frigate or fighter wing. It has a dorsal and ventral twin-linked laser cannon turret (overriding those shown in the video and Steam workshop page).
Hestan inherited is as the family ship when he was old and good enough at piloting to be able to fly it, changing her name from Pride of Kiffex to Long Run.

KILLS:
None so far.

BOUNTIES COLLECTED:
None so far.
