Intent: Personal weapons for Helios Venth
Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/101669-sanity-seems-counter-productive/(please refer to pages 6-7 primarily as that is the main area involving the actually work to create the lightsabers)
Manufacturer: Helios Venth
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Helios Venth, Force users
Modularity: The dantari crystals in both blades.
Production: Semi-Unique (Provided Helios passes them on or lends them... Or they get taken)
Material: dura steel components, 2× focusing lenses, 2X beam emitters, 2X power cells, 2X dark green dantari crystals, 2X activation switches.
Classification: Lightsaber
Size: Between 1-2 handed depending upon mode.
Length: Hilt: 12.7 cm Blade: 96 cm (both blades dimensions are identical)
Weight: 2.7 kg
Special Features: the twin lightsabers were designed with a locking mechanism. Which allows them to switch between being used as two seperate lightsabers, to being wielded as a saber staff and vice versa.
Strengths: + The dantari crystals allows Helios to recover from force fatigue quicker by engaging in combat.
+ Extremely versatile. They can be wield as a single saber staff, a pair of lightsabers, or a single lightsaber.
Weaknesses:
- This weapon due to it's high versatility is extremely complicated to truly master.
- Once engaged in combat. It is safer to stick with a single mode. Although changing from a saberstaff to twin blades, or vice versa has advantages. Enabling and disabling the locking mechanism provides a gap in which user is left open to attack. Only recommended once weapons are completely mastered.
Description: The hilt of these blades has a pretty simple base design. Though include a locking mechanism to join the two together. The jade green pattern is the most complicated physical appearance. (Unlike the picture) The secondary markings are cobalt blue in color. Helios designed the twin lightsabers. With two dark green dantari crystals at the heart. Helios incorporated the locking mechanism. As he wanted his weapon(s), to reflect the changes in his personality. Seeming he is mentally unstable. Helios best felt he could use a weapon that wasn't confined to a single form. Though this does add the versatility that Helios wanted. The various styles one needs to learn to properly wield the blades in all of their potential forms. Makes mastery of this weapon very difficult, if not impossible for the user. As well as trying to transition the locking mechanism to change from twin blades to a saberstaff, or vice versa leaves a gap in defense during combat. Which has to be accounted for in other means.
