Description: Being the First in a new line of Republic Engineering Corporation Corvettes, the Heleus-Class was designed to operate in the Unknown and Unexplored Regions of space, allowing those aboard to navigate throughout whatever Astronavigation Hazards may await them in the bespeckled void.
Though war and strife grip the Galaxy, there are those within its bounds that seek a brighter future, and thus hold in their hearts a burning desire to explore the darkened regions of our fair universe. Whether it be entirely new and unexplored sectors of space or places lost in the endless night that gripped the galaxy after the events of the Four hundred years darkness and in the aftermath the hatefully labeled ‘Netherworld’ catastrophe. It was the hope of the Republic Engineering Corporation that the Heleus-Class would be the pioneer vessel, (re)charting the galaxy with some of the most state-of-the-art technology available in the known Universe.
From the drawing board to actual production, the Heleus-Class Corvette was designed to be a versatile starship, able to not only excel in its designated slot of an Exploration and Science vessel, but could also operate as a personal starship of private, corporate, and government dignitaries. While many designs offered by the Republic Engineering Corporation were designed to be modular, thus allowing for easy reconfigurations and a significant reduction in drydock repair time, this Corvette was the first that deviated from the company’s standardized template of construction.
Smaller than the standard Corellian Corvette, and admittedly under armed in comparison, the Heleus-class excels in the ability to outpace and outmaneuver any hostile threat, along with the uncanny ability thoroughly scan and explore newfound planets with an almost surgical precision. With the automated systems and the integrated Droid brain, the Corvette was able to be operated by a small, and highly trained crew of organics, where similar vessels within the Anaxes War College classification would’ve demanded a larger complement. Droids are a common sight around the ship's entirety, which was remotely connected to the Droid brain, thus creating an Enslaved system where a single Organic being would be able to operate, and command, entire systems that would’ve taken dozens of commissioned officers before.
Thus, with automated systems, a droid brain that’s able to learn and adapt, and an impressive sensor system, the Heleus-Class Corvette is a contender for one of the most advanced exploration vessels in the galaxy.
