OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Kiribian Systems Armory
  • Affiliation: Kiribian Systems Armory
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: Yes, Programming
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Pyronium, Tachyonic Matter, Electronic components, Digital stuff
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Superluminal Processing: Hecate's special pyronium-based processing cores are densely packed with tens of thousands of compute units capable of parallel calculations several thousand times faster than the speed of light, giving the portable AI unit similar processing power to full sized units housed powered by massive ship-based super computers or huge data centers. Taking advantage of pyronium's unique property to generate localized hyper matrices, tachyonic based processors are then inserted into these pockets and are able to operate much faster than in normal space.
  • Specialized Roles: Hecate excels in a cyber warfare, both in an offensive and defensive role. It also displays high aptitude for piloting and navigation.
  • Hydra: Hecate can slave captured or infected systems to her central core to increase her processing power, useful for attack techniques like DDoS and spamming.
  • Holographic Projector
STRENGTHS
  • Its specializations give Hecate an edge against other systems and general purpose AI. Even AI specifically designed for security, such as the Atropos series, can be seriously challenged.
  • Portable, about the size of a large egg.
  • Inherent to the awesome energy absorption properties of pyronium, Hectate's processing core displays great resilience to Ion/EMP attacks and energy surges.
WEAKNESSES
  • Such specializations make it only middling for general use or more specific purposes like medical diagnostics.
  • Being portable also means greater exposure to attack.
  • Based off a neural profile of a real person, Hecate is more vulnerable to emotional appeals and biases than a traditional AI.
  • While active, the high energy output of the core can interfere with the personal stealth devices like cloaking fields. DO NOT USE in concert hibridium based stealth technology.
DESCRIPTION

During the old GA's invasion of Anoat, Allyson Locke Allyson Locke attempted to breach a Mithril protected system through Mechu Deru, she inadvertently left a partial neural profile in the process. Mithril in turn assimilated this profile, creating a virtualized daemon of Allyson for combat her and other Force Users in the future, making all Mithril protected systems quite resilient to Mechu Deru.

While an effective countermeasure, it was flagged as an anomaly by technicians, gaining the attention of the Special Projects Division (SPD) of KSA. At the time, SPD was fine-tuning the imprinting process for a new line of Pyronium based AI cores. Imprinting helped speed up the process of training AI for specific tasks, cutting down training time from months and weeks to days and hours. Director Ala Crescent, head of SPD, extracted a copy of the daemon to imprint on a blank core, interested in fashioning a new unit for cyber and information warfare.

The experiment was initially a success, creating a rather crafty AI unit that excelled at attacking and defending networks. It was especially creative at slicing into target machines. In one such example, it analyzed the changing electromagnetic signature of a CPU's transistors to generate an algorithm capable of decrypting secure comms to wreak havoc on the battle net. Going further, Hecate discovered the use of surgically targeted echo pulses to alter memory modules and create its own vulnerabilities in a target system that it could later exploit. These attack methods completely circumvented typical all-digital defense schemes by utilizing the power of physics.

It displayed some aptitude for other talents outside of its intended focus, like piloting. Crescent determined this was liikely a product of the original neural profile of Allyson who displayed a similar skill set.

Invaluable data was gathered from testing and simulations with Hecate, but over time the AI itself proved problematic as it grew unstable. Its imprint was originally built off a partial profile of Allyson's brain, which was fine for the operation of a relatively simple daemon tool, but not nearly sufficient for a sentient AI. It also became more and more unruly, more of its time focused on finding something...or rather someone.

Running into a dead end with the incomplete AI, Crescent pulled the plug before it could become a threat, then sealed the AI in stasis for possible reconstruction later.

Later never came.
