Intent: To finally bring an end to Vitor's story.
Development Thread: N/A (Said I was done RPing - development is in the description)
Manufacturer: Vitor Imperieuse.
Model: The Heart of the Despondant
Affiliation: Lilin Imperieuse
Modularity: No
Production: Unique
Material: Crystallized Blood

Strengths:
  • Suffering- The tormented soul within the gem knows no happiness. Neither life nor death shall shake from it the deep feelings of despair. Those around the gem who are not the wielder feel the suffering gnaw at the corner of their minds, as though a pressure were building in their skulls.
  • Engorged- The soul within the gem was powerful in life. Its Force capabilities may be used to augment Force attacks created by the wielder, or increase the potency of sorcerous rituals.
  • Overcharged- A lightsaber formed with the blade is imperfect. Energy courses through the blade far too powerfully - and such a buildup could prove useful in disabling the lightsabers of other Force-wielders.
  • Light-Leech- Despondency brings shadow. Any lightsaber utilizing this crystal shall have a core of solid black, a darkness of midnight so deep that to observers, it appears to drink in and devour all light around the blade.
Weaknesses: (Provide, in list format, a minimum of 1 weaknesses of this submission.)
  • Overcharged- A lightsaber formed with the blade is imperfect. Fluctuations of energy within it may cause a buildup that will temporarily short out any lightsaber made using this crystal.
  • Broad- A lightsaber made using this crystal will have a broader blade, making its usage clumsier.
  • Encrypted- Though the spirit within the crystal is bereft of much knowledge, he will reveal none of it to the bearer. Nothing, not even destruction or torment of the gem he is held in, will get him to release any information, rendering the spirit useless as a teacher.

Description: The lightsaber crystal known as the Heart of the Despondant was formed from the blood of Vitor Imperieuse. His life, despondent from his awakening to his death, forged such grief within his heart that he studiously planned for his last purpose to be one of usefulness. Preparing a ritual even as he judged the contest to determine the new owner of Emeritus Industries, upon its transfer, he returned home to Zahat'n'ira to complete it.

With the focus only a wizened veteran could showcase, and the mathematical skills of a learned scholar, the ritual was performed. The ancient Sith Sword that had hung on the wall soon left the former Jedi headless, thrown towards his own flesh with pinpoint precision. As Vitor's head flew through the air from the impact, it tumbled down within the circle of a carefully prepared ritual circle, a focal point for the corrupting Dark Side energy to perform its malignant work.

With the last seconds of consciousness that Vitor had, he focused on the circle - pouring his energy into the blood leaking from his severed head. Through silent whispers, he completed the last of the incantations, and as the life left his shriveled corpse, the gem forged beneath his sliced neck soon began to glow.

The gem would find its way into the hands of Lilin Imperieuse, the eldest of his children. What she would do with it, he knew not - though whatever consciousness he had not sacrificed in the ritual would attempt to be useful for its new wielder.
