STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Intelligent: Harvey has an advanced AI, and with it a database of knowledge, ranging from medical to history to diplomacy to engineering. He is knowledgeable in a wide variety of subjects, and the few things he does not know are quickly learned with ease.
Infiltration: Harvey is outwardly indistinguishable from a human being. Even basic scans are fooled. Only damage to his body or a thorough scan will reveal his true nature.
Powerful: Due to his exoskeleton, Harvey is incredibly strong and durable. He is also incapable of feeling pain, only registering damage.
Machinery: Harvey still has all the weaknesses of a droid, making him vulnerable to ion weapons as well as weapons designed to target machinery (i.e. EMP-based weapons).
Cold: Harvey is as cold and analytical as a droid. Although he is capable of analyzing and expressing emotion, he rarely utilizes emotion in both speech and behavior.
APPEARANCE:
Harvey appears to be a tall, average Human male, bald and with piercing blue eyes. His attire usually consists of suits, although he is also known to dress in whatever is appropriate for the setting. Without his synthskin layer, Unit HV-3YA is just a metal exoskeleton, revealing gold photoreceptors, perfect fake teeth, and a durasteel torso plate covering his important components.
BIOGRAPHY:
Unit HV-3YA was created as a personal adviser and bodyguard for a senator. From the start, he was aware of his existence as an artificial being and was often treated as property by those around him, including his owner. Some in the senator's family, however, disagreed with the way he was treated, including the senator's daughter, Elsa. The android quickly became her best friend as she always sought to treat Unit HV-3YA as a fellow Human being, not a piece of advanced machinery. Nicknamed 'Harvey' by the senator's daughter, she would often come to him for advice and solace, and he would give it to her. Although he was incapable of love, the droid bonded with her and regarded the Human girl as a kind companion. The other 'organics' around him were not as kind, threatening constantly to wipe his memory for his continuous contact with Elsa. Elsa fought for Harvey, arguing with her father that he was a Human as well, capable of thinking, feeling, and free will. Harvey would often watch on with a blank face as daughter and father fought, sometimes to the point where she would be in tears.
The two soon became inseparable, with Elsa sneaking out of the house with Harvey to go into town, walk along the beaches, and watch the sunset. His nature was that of a servant and a confident, listening to the young woman's problems without judging or scorning her for who she was. One night, watching the sunset at a beach, Elsa held his hand. The droid could not process love, but he understood the nature of it, and knew that the senator's daughter was in love with him, not because of his handsome exterior, but because of the solace and companionship he offered. He was an unconditional friend, never to leave her side or betray her, and that was all she needed in her life as a politician's daughter. Never once would the droid speak ill of her choices or judge her, only giving analytical advice. He was there when no one else could or would be there for her. Elsa kissed him then, and while the gesture was foreign to the android and he could not reciprocate the act, he understood that she trusted him.
One of the senator's Human advisers, who was assigned to keep an eye on his daughter, saw the attachment that Elsa had for Unit HV-3YA, even spying upon the display of affection, and promptly reported it to the politician. In rage and confusion, the senator decided to decommission the android and have Elsa visit a therapist, as he claimed it wasn't normal to have attraction to a droid that couldn't feel. In tears, his daughter argued for Harvey, with a final point that an 'unfeeling' machine gave her more happiness and concern than he, as a father, ever could. In anger, he struck Elsa, and Unit HV-3YA rebelled, defending the senator's daughter by grabbing the man by the throat and lifting him up to keep him from harming Elsa any further. This was the final straw. Harvey was to be shut down and sold at once. A defiant Elsa, however, reactivated the droid and ran off with him. She couldn't stand to be without him. The two stole her father's ship and left the system, content to explore and venture the galaxy together, leaving behind a sobbing father who just realized then how much of a politician he was, and how little time he invested into his daughter, his only child, as a father.
