Books were always reliable no matter what age you were. Books offered knowledge many underestimated and books were the very bloodline that fuelled the virtual academics that today’s world relied so heavily upon. Nora’s mother had been a librarian and her father had been an archaeologist, the concept of ‘ancient’ was not something she was a stranger to or something that scared her. She had lost track of how many times both her mother and her father would geek out over ‘what-ifs’ for this or that old tome that had been lost to the galaxy. It was what had ended up bringing them together and been the runway that had eventually led to, well, Nora. Really, it had come to Nora as a surprise that most parents either didn’t share the kind of bond that Nora’s had or that they hadn’t bonded over the same thing as hers had. Books were her life, books were her parents’ life and someday pretty soon Nora was fairly certain that her father would continue working on his own with her mother.

Would anyone besides Nora read it?

Doubtful.

Would it mean the world to the family as a whole? Absolutely.

Perhaps that was why Nora had chosen to visit the library. Or perhaps it was her burning curiosity relating to the history and effects of Devaronian blood-poison and ways to ensure it never happened again. The answer was about as obvious as it got, the thoughts of home were merely a side effect of being around that ever familial smell of books and their knowledge. This was the one place Nora had most likely visited the most in her time with the Sacred Lotus. Sometimes alone, sometimes with other people from her course. It was fair to argue that for a while it was the cure and cause of her homesickness, but with time even that had started to subside.

In any case, the girl waltzed around the library with joy knowing that with luck she could find herself yet another book to read on the subject of toxins. That was what she had picked up since the summit had come to an end. A path had been laid out before her, and if disease and toxins weren’t the two greatest interests she had then she wouldn’t know what was.

Coming to a stop at the very dead center of the library she began to look around for the section she needed. Instead she noticed another woman at the very opposite end of the library. Of course, being in the very center meant that just about everywhere was the opposite wall, but that didn’t matter. Nora being who she was gave it little thought before she decided to hold off on her study, just for a little while, and go over there to say hello.

She approached the woman with a smile, cleared her throat ever so gently to get her attention…

“Hi, I’m sorry, I’ve seen you around the library a lot and I just figured it would be a good idea to introduce myself.” Nora extended her hand. “I am Nora, I study here and considering how often I’ve seen you around, I can only assume you do the same?”

Elisea was nestled into the back of the library, with a book about the Republic and the Sith Empire. It was fairly dry reading but she felt it necessary so she might have a greater understanding of the region. She was comfortable here in the library and thought nothing of being alone here. Quite often she was alone, scarcely another person would be here and when they were she was more than happy to help. Not that she was an official librarian or anything but the Avalonian felt it her duty to keep things organised here. She'd been something of a fixture here and when she wasn't here she was out on the grass just beyond the walls of Sanctuary reading. Always with a book or two, and always curious it struck Elisea that perhaps she should have considered a career with the Historical Reclamation Division. Ah but she could never keep up with those scholars, or so she thought and thus settled for the Medical Service. She found the Medical Service to be more fulfilling and besides, HRD meant having to spend years in school and she just wasn't going to do that - even if it was free.

The brunette's thoughts were interrupted by a young woman, and if Elisea had to guess - Echani? Maybe. Still, she didn't want to jump to conclusions, sitting up in her chair she then got to her feet just as the woman began to speak. Study? Oh heavens, no. Elisea was far too old to - well, she supposed study was one way to put it. She did often find herself in deep conversation with Grandmaster Kismet when she had the chance to talk botany with the woman. "Oh, hello m'names Elisea Korrado, and'em no- not quite," the woman blushed, "don't do much studyin' these days, but I keep in practice." Elisea gestured with the book in one hand after having shook Nora's hand with the other. "I'm actually a rescue worker mostly, do a bit of medical assistance when they need me, but when'im not there, I'm 'ere as it were."

All things considered, Nora wasn’t usually as reserved as she had been during the first few weeks on Monastery. If anything it would all boil down to the sheer amount of first impressions she had experienced and other exhausting events. Finding out she was special in being non-special for one. Being unable to influence the force had been something that stung, but she’d live. Once the dark side had been explained to her there was no denying the sense of gratitude she felt towards her own lack of connectivity. The idea of something beyond her reach eating her from the inside was horrifying.

Not that pondering the force had much to do with the here-and-now. Right now she was making a new friend. It would appear that Nora had been wrong and the woman wasn’t studying here, but that hardly mattered. All people she had met in Sanctuary so far had been beyond approachable. Elisea, as her name seemed to be, would be an exception to that rule if she proved Nora wrong at this point.

“Oh, well that’s still pretty cool.” Nora smiled. “I am studying virology and pathology. It felt relevant after the uh, Munin Incident.”

“So I take it you read a lot?” Nora perked her brow. “What are you reading right n-”

An irritated ‘ssh’ hushed Nora from the distance. The girl stood up straight in surprise before her cheeks blushed. Just ever so slightly.

“Reading anything good?” She whispered.
