Strengths:
- Redundant Shielding provides excellent defenses against enemy weapons.
- The ship is rather heavily armed, carrying weapons such as heavy turbolasers and long range railguns.
- Despite not being too heavily armed, the Hammerhead-class cruiser is a bit below average in terms of speed and maneuverability.
- The hull of the ship itself is not as heavily fortified as most Koros Spaceworks ships, relying instead on the two layers of shielding - meaning that going through the shields leaves the cruiser more vulnerable than a ship of the same class and length equipped with a standard hull.
- If one of the reactors loses power, either the shields or the weapons will go offline as they are both dedicated to either feature.
Description:
A project picked up by one of the lead designers of Koros Spaceworks, a project leader second to the C.E.O Lily Kirsche Kuhn, the Hammerhead-class cruiser was designed with presence and intimidation in mind. The ship, itself, was designed and put onto the production line due to the details of an auction in which a lot of Phrik was sold, roughly four-hundred and fifty or so kilos, in return for a limited production line of ships tailored to the auctioneer's preferences. The result was the Hammerhead-class, armed quite heavily and defended nearly as well. Redundant shielding helps to keep enemy ships at bay, while also compensating for a somewhat subpar hull, and over three hundred capital guns line the exterior of the hull to dole out punishment on opposing forces.
Countering these two rather beneficial features of the cruiser are the somewhat below-average speed and maneuverability for a ship of this size carrying this degree of weaponry. An added issue that unseasoned tacticians may find is that, while the shielding itself is superb, the hull of the ship is a bit subpar for the average cruiser of this length and thus relying strictly on the shields of the ship and its weaponry become a must.
The shields are maintained by two fusion generators, one which is dedicated solely to the weapons placed on the ship, and the other dedicated to the maintaining of the shields. While this provides some extra power to the ship's defenses, as the hull of the ship is below standard and is compensated with the redundant shields, this can prove to be an issue if one of the two reactors are sent offline - meaning the ship could be without either shields or weapons until power is diverted and split between the two. A standard solar ionization reactor is dedicated to core functions, such as life support, system power, and so on, but not weapons or shields and cannot be used for either. The ship is propelled by ion drives.

Intent: To create a cruiser in return for a lot of phrik bought in an auction, and because I've wanted to submit a new starship for a while.
