Hammer Time (Tor Icehammer & Nanna)

[member="Tor Icehammer"] was new to the Enclave of Deneba, Veiere having retrieved the young pupil from Midvinter as the last wish of his predecessor Calder Icehammer alongside the company of [member="Nanna"], had successfully tracked the little one down and taken it upon himself to train the new arrival as he had hoped to guide Calder before him. Unlike the world of Midvinter, Deneba was a barren world with a warm climate, her natural life was few and far between compared and save for the Enclaves fortunate air conditioning and temperature controls, Veiere remained pensive in his wish to see just how young Tor was handling the change of atmosphere.

He was an energetic little one, this young prodigy of the late Calder not nearly as serious though not nearly as experienced either, there was a hope there that Tor might save himself the let down of growing so accustomed to aggression as Calder had done. The Beorni's death had been a hard loss to accept, part of Veiere had come to hold it against himself for his intervention upon the day, the arrival of the Incursion forcing their hand and leaving them flayed, instincts their only reliance and without warning, Veiere had sought to restrain Calder, only to aid the Iron Knights in their eliminating him from the scene.

Within the Residence Quarters, he awaited Tor to join him. The little one having been allowed the week to settle in before Veiere would eventually call upon him and now out within the Students lounge, he sat with a few other young Padawan, talking casually with them while they all inquired as to his role as Councilor and his experiences. What stories did he have, had he fought against the Sith, what was his wife like. All the typical prying into personal lives that Veiere could only chuckle at in response. The nature of youth amused him greatly, they were a heart warming people to be around compared to the often strenuous matters of galactic Politics whether government nor Jedi.

Eventually however, as much as he enjoyed the down time; Veiere knew that things would move forward regardless of his wish otherwise and looking to the future days, he needed to spend some quality time with the both of his Padawan. To prepare them for what was to come in their path as members of the Jedi Order.

It was hot. Everything about this planet was just hot. Midvinter was a planet of ice. Of cold. Of comfort. But here? Uncomfortable. Tor Icehammer, legacy of the great Calder, was brought here by [member="Veiere Arenais"] to learn being a Jedi? Calder barely spoke of the Jedi so Tor didn't know much. What he did know was he was shedding. Shedding. Not only was that itchy, it was uncomfortable.

A lot of times he spent hiding, dashing around the school. The Gurlanin was rather good at his peoples ability to fade from every sense, natural or Force, and it was from there he'd watch the Jedi. His fellow padawans were out and about, but he didn't join them. Even now he still felt uncomfortable around the Jedi, and he was sad. Calder had died for them, and he didn't understand why.

But then he saw Veiere. From the bushes he ran out as a speeding ball of fur before stopping before the master. "Um, hi master Arenais. Why are we out here..?"

In times such as these, Students alike [member="Tor Icehammer"] were always the most easily appreciated. Young, energetic and bubbly. There was always some incentive to grin to himself when bumping into them and being reminded of the simpler pleasures in the worlds that they traveled too and from, that not all of life was as heavy as the burden that he often carried upon himself. "There you are, my little friend..." Veiere chuckled softly, crouching down to balance himself upon the tips of his feet, elbows rested upon his knees as he brought himself closer to the height of his newest Padawan Learner.

The outside world of Deneba was far warmer than the winds of Midvinter's climate, the young Gurr was already beginning to show signs of the weathers affect coming into play upon his race as his fur had thinned out and he wasn't so much the same chunky ball of fluff that he had been where he and [member="Nanna"] had sought out Midvinter at the last request of Calder Icehammer, the little Gurlanin's previous caregiver despite being off world much of the time towards the end of the great beorni's life in service to the Jedi Order.

"I was hoping I might find you sooner or later. I thought you might be hiding away in your room but I'm glad to see you're out here spending time with the rest of the students" Veiere eventually shifted to take a casual seat upon the dusty floor of dried and cracked Deneban earth, showing little care for the matter of dirtying his tunic as opposed to remaining on a near mutual level with the young protege. "How are you finding this place...-And the people here?".
