Ammunition Capacity: 8
Effective Range: 5000 meters
Rate of Fire: Single action
Special Features: Radar
Friend or Foe firing system
Manual targeting if need to beat Chaff
Massive amount of EMP

Description: The missile system is designed to take out incoming fighters and bombers, by intercepting them as they come in. As radar picks up up all signals of incoming towards it, it will relay transponder codes if known to the operator's. Then they will decide whether to fire or not at the target, as it comes towards them. As they launch the missile, it then heads towards it target a high speed. As it approaches the target a proximity sensor goes off, at this point the missile explodes. This is done at approximately 15 meters from target, and by the time it explodes it is only a meter away. The explosion gives off a massive amount of emp, and tungsten shrapnel that would cut the fighter into pieces. As well as take down any near by members of the squadron. The operator can also use a joystick and camera system, this is utilised when the enemy fighter use chaff system to distract the missile. Also if it lose signal the weapon will auto explode, with a 30 meter area effect radius.

ooc: I noticed for some reason bats, can't detect glass or mirrors, when I rehabilitating them, and they use radar of a sort to find there way around.

How does manual targeting work? Do they interpret the sensor signals from radar (FST)? Use fly-by-wire? Etc.

The missile is hard to detect, due to a mirrored glass being put around the missile, which reduces its radar signal.

There are certainly ways to lower radar signatures, but I do not think that this is one of them. Bats use echolocation, which is conceptually related to radar in that they both produce waves that the producers interpret to understand location, but the principles of radio and sound waves differ considerably. You may want to consider radar absorbent material or you may want to look at using Star wars materials like nutorium, reflec, etc that have stealth properties.

Being stealth technology though, this would require a 10 post development thread and a drop in production to limited.
