Name: Gutshaus des Venatori

Classification: Residential Dwelling

Location: Gutshaus des Venatori is the ancestral home of the Imperial Ventor family. Located on a modest property in the grasslands of Dosuun some twenty kilometers outside Avalonia proper. The Manor House lives in the shadow of a mountain range that is rumoured to be where members of the Ventor family once murdered and buried members of the Amica family; their political and business rivals. This forever earned their family an infamous reputation as dangerous and silver-tongued hunters. The Manor is characterised by its fine stone craftsmanship, quaint oil lamps and ominous statues, said to commemorate their cunning and ghastly deeds.

Affiliation: Ventor Family (Lyna Ventor, Ulrich Ventor, Jaina Ventor)

Description: Gutshaus des Venatori is a manor house with a design that harkens back a millennium. Situated on a modest property access is achieved normally via the obsidian cobblestone road. That reaches over the water moat surrounding the property. The entire Manor is surrounded by a thick nine feet tall stone wall with vines creeping up over the precipice. Flanking the gate are two stone pillars with two malevolent stone creatures keeping eternal watch. Within the Manor's walls behind a Durasteel gate is a courtyard with a fountain to greet any arrival. To the left is a vehicle garage where the family keep their speeders. The interior of the manor itself is nothing short of beautiful with crimson carpet covering the stairs and floorboards. First Order banners flank the doorway and a pair of more banners hang from the ceiling above the Atrium, proudly displaying the family's support of the First Order.

Smooth stone pillars support the Atrium's ceiling. The Manor is characterised by three ensuite bedrooms fit for royalty that feature shaded balconies that overlook the entrance courtyard. Complete with quaint little tables and styled durasteel chairs to facilitate dining. The Manor House has a large wood and rustic kitchen on the first floor staffed by droids who prepare meals for the Ventors. On the right side of the manor are two kingly studies with encyclopaedias of information for scholarly pursuits and has been used as a source of education and entertainment for centuries. On the left side of the Manor on the bottom floor is a great dining room with a great oak table and enough chairs and fine crockery for two-dozen guests to immediately find a place to sit. Above it on the second floor is a fully equipped theatre and bar where members of the family can come to view holoprojections. Behind the Manor is a sizable alfresco dining area on wood floorboards and an outdoor kitchen. Included outside and behind the manor is a small garden, fenced fifteen by four-meter pool and sauna located in a small wood cabin.

Beneath the Manor is a great cellar where a huge stockpile of alcohol is kept, along with great freezers to store perishable food and larder to store non-perishable food. In addition, there is a droid garage where the family's servant and security droids receive diagnostic tests, repairs and cleaning. Unknown to anybody outside the family, there exists a false wall in the droid garage that leads to a reliquary containing Galactic Empire era weapons, armour and equipment; Heirlooms from a time long passed when the Ventor family were anything but humble politicians, business people or landlords. The most prized heirloom in this collection is a matte black suit of fabled Mark III Katarn-Class Commando Armour. A password-protected terminal containing a comprehensive record of every Ventor Matriarch/Patriarch who has ever lived, extensive family history including their legal obligations and business interests. The seat of a family with such a controversial and coloured past is guarded by a squad-sized force of security droids; KX-series security droids who are distinguished by the vertical yellow stripes on their heads. The Manor itself is staffed by some five silver coloured 3PO units who act as servants for the Ventor family.

History:
  • The Manor was constructed sometime after the battle of Yavin and the Galactic Empire collapsed into several successor governments by Moff Konstantine Venatori as a private family retreat and shelter. Moff Konstantine Venatori used the manor house to store trophies of his conquests across the galaxy and a place to entertain dignitaries. Konstantine Venatori was insistent on the construction of an outdoor Sauna where he could be joined by his wife and children. It became a Venatori tradition for their children to be born inside the Sauna during winter.
  • Konstantine Venatori passes away and the Manor falls to the ownership of his eldest son, so did the manor change hands within the family for centuries during which time little changed about the manor save for its occupants and furniture arrangement. The name of the occupying family goes from "Venatori" to "Venator" after the sudden string of deaths concerning a rival "Amica" Family, it is rumoured that the family from then on is cursed to steadily dwindle and fade into obscurity. The Family's activities shift in this period from military to commercial pursuits and investment.
  • Members of the Venator family slowly leave their Manor home on Dosuun and never return, those who stay behind rename themselves the "Ventor" family. In an attempt to distance themselves from their murderous and shadowy reputation. Surely enough the Ventor family's numbers do dwindle until modern times where droids outnumber the living residence and the presumptive heir of the Ventor estate carries not a drop of that lineage's blood in her veins although all the characteristic cunning and wicked intellect.
Intent: To create some deep lore for Jaina and the Ventor family. Flesh-out Jaina's home in the Star Wars Universe.
