Character Grunt

The Spice Pig of Gamorr

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

+ Intelligence- Grunt is a genius among his people, while that equates to just above average for most other species. He can strategize, manage logistics, and even run parts of the drug trade. Other Gamorreans would never think in terms of supply chains or profit margins, but he does.

+ Size- While he is very smart for his species, he is still a Gammorean, so even being a little short, he is quite stacked with muscle, and the sight of him alone is enough to put some people off.

+ Underestimated-Many opponents (and even allies) dismiss him as "just another pig brute." He uses this to his advantage, surprising rivals when his cunning shows.

___________________________

- Limited Perspective- While smart for a Gamorrean, he's only "above average" compared to humans, Falleen, or Twi'leks. This means he can still be outwitted by truly cunning rivals.

- Temper Control- He has a shorter fuse than most species. Even with intelligence, he's still prone to bouts of rage, which can ruin a carefully planned scheme.

- Cultural Alienation- Other Gamorreans might resent him for being "different" or "soft," while other species may still see him as a savage thug. He struggles to fully belong in either world.

- Addict- Being an enforcer in the world of drugs, Grunt has fallen victim to addiction. He tries his best to keep it separate from his business, but it is a big possibility that his plans could be ruined by a drug binge or too many drinks.

- Not a Subtle Presence- He's huge, loud, and physically distinct. Unlike a Twi'lek smuggler or Falleen diplomat, he can't really blend into a crowd or hide easily.

BIOGRAPHY:

Born into the mud-covered politics of clan life on Gamorr, Maash grew up in an endless cycle of brawls, raids, and petty squabbles that defined Gamorrean life. Unlike his brothers who solved problems with their axe, Maash was able to see patterns, and recognize opportunity. He noted which traders brought the best steel, whose warbands attacked which moons more often, he picked up on more than the average. He even made up a system to stockpile food for when the harsh months came, something many of his people hadn't considered.

His brothers called him 'soft' and said he was too 'clever' to be a Gamorrean, that he was born of something else. They were forced to respect him and his mind when he saved them from a particularly bad season by sharing his stockpile of food he had saved. He proved himself further by initiating traps and ambushes on their enemies. This quickly shot him up to war-leader, and Maash was known for his tactics, not just his weapons.

His break came when an off-world smuggler crash landed on his planet. Where the others of his kind saw treasure, he saw opprotunity. He offered to protect the smuggler, saving his life and his cargo in exchange for a chance. The smuggler taught him basic, numbers, and provided his leger of spice contacts. These years traveling with the smuggler were formative, and when the moment came, Maash left his company a better businessman and a savvy fighter.

He drifted into the wider galaxy as a hired mercenary, but his talent for or ganizing crews and running product got him noticed by the Black Sun. Instead of staying a grunt, he became a fixer for drug routes, handling shipments, balancing books, and making sure debtors paid up. His bulk kept rivals in line, but his brain kept the credits flowing.

His new contacts in the criminal world didn't care to learn his name like the smuggler, instead they refered to him as one thing 'Grunt'. He knew they were refering to all of his kind by that, not just him. If they wanted to underestimate him, good. He could be 'Grunt', and so Maash became Grunt, and he worked his way up with cunning and precison.

Grunt is now in the Black Sun Syndicate, though he hasn't chosen a Vigo yet to serve, he has made a name for himself among the galaxy's worst.
