Intent: A single-function amulet for easing memory damage
Development Thread:

Manufacturer: Rave Merrill, Mara D'Lessio Merrill
Model: Grip of Enlightenment
Affiliation: Personal ([member="Ostanes"], etc.)
Modularity: No
Production: Semi-Unique

Material: Bronzium, Kasha stone, Upari crystal
Description: An amulet-style adaptation of a Jal Shey mentor belt imbuement, the Touch of Enlightenment is likewise a single-function Force artifact. Its purpose is to heal blocked or damaged memories, such as memories locked away or flashburned.

When Rave Merrill disappeared several years ago, many alchemists of her magnum opus, Akure Executive Interstellar, were killed or suffered memory blockages. Since then, she has had cause to regret her impetuous actions for their own sake. As a result, when contracted by [member="Ostanes"] -- one of AEI's top alchemists and executives -- she seized the opportunity to make amends.

The Grip of Enlightenment is nothing more than a directional Jal Shey belt imbuement with a Kasha stone and an Upari crystal attached. The stone and the belt imbuement combine to clear the target's mind, especially of Force influences, and primarily Dark Side influences. With clarity of mind comes a healing influence derived from properly-cut Upari crystal, which can have mental defense functions.

It is important to note that these elements are combined in such a way as to unblock and heal memories in the target. In other respects, the Grip of Enlightenment confers no mental defense or focus bonuses to the target or the wearer.

The Grip of Enlightenment is a Light Side construct, but, as with all Jal Shey constructs, it can be used by Force-sensitives of whatever stripe, or even by non-Force-sensitives. It works on contact or at quite short range (<1m).

When Rave used a Grip of Enlightenment on Kaili Talith to treat PTSD, her niece Mara became fascinated with it. After Rave's death, Mara continued to grow as a specialist in crystal-related Force crafting. Eventually the creation of a Grip of Enlightenment was within her reach. Suffering from PTSD herself, Mara became interested in making the Grip of Enlightenment available to others.
