The Grimnar III-class Star Destroyer was an improved variant of the Grimnar-class Star Destroyer. Designed by Iron Wrath Industries, and produced by the Iron Empire; it was a warship conceived for planetary defense, planetary assault, troop transport, and ship-to-ship combat. It saw use as part of the Iron Imperial Navy, serving the role of a Pocket Star Destroyer. It was visually distinctive from its predecessor, due to its black hull.
The Grimnar II's martial capabilities were identical to that of both the Grimnar, and Grimnar II. It featured a myriad of weaponry for close-to-mid range combat, this included: 30 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries, 30 Turbolaser Batteries, 20 Heavy Ion Batteries, 20 Ion Batteries, and 15 General Purpose Warhead Tubes. In addition, the ship was protected by both a Deflector Shield, and Redundant Deflector Shield. Like other Iron Imperial vessels, the Deflector shield was housed within the Grimnar III itself, while the Redundant Deflector Shield sat atop its bridge tower.
However, where the Grimnar III differed, was in its maneuverability. With the installation of a significant number of Maneuvering Jets, it was far more nimble, than that of its predecessors. Combined with the ship's speed, the Grimnar III was the most agile vessel in the Iron Imperial Navy.
