Affiliation: One Sith / Titan Industries
Manufacturer: Titan Industries
Model: N/A
Modularity: None
Production: Mass Produced
Material: Yorik Coral
Classification: Starfighter / Coralskipper
Length: 14 m
Height: 5 m
Width: 2.2 m

Armament:
  • [6x] Yaret-Kor

Squadron Count: 12

Special Features:
  • Dovin Basals
  • Hyperspace-capable

Maneuverability Rating: 4
Speed Rating: 3
Hyperdrive Class: 4

Strengths:
  • Following the design of the Slayer ships of the Yuuzhan Vong, the dovin basals onboard the Gretchin-class enable the ship to leap into hyperspace.
  • Similar to the Slayer ships the Gretchin-class houses six yorik-kor on its sides, facing forward, with three on each side.
Weaknesses:
  • As with most Yuuzhan Vong ships, the Gretchin class does not carry a shield generator.
  • Like all Yuuzhan Vong creations, the Gretchin class is as alive as an actual Gretchin for which it is named, enough damage sustained will kill the ship and thus render it immobile more quickly than a standard inorganic ship made of durasteel and such.
  • Although the ship is capable of entering hyperspace, its capabilities of traveling through it are dwarfed by hyperdrives of class three to one, making its advantage somewhat bittersweet.

Description: Upon realization that the entirety of the One Sith, as well as Titan Industries, were only using standard Yorik-ets Silara sought to change that. Taking the ideas of the Slayer ships produced near the end of the Galactic invasion held by the Yuuzhan Vong, the shipbuilders of Titan Industries came up with a suitable upgrade. Not much is different, aside from a slightly more narrow build on most of the ships. As with all Yuuzhan Vong creations, no single ship is the same as the next as they are all living organisms and are grown into their desired size and shape. Perhaps the only advantage of this over most Yorik-ets is that the dovin basals, like the slayer ships of old, are capable of jumping into hyperspace, a feat the standard Yorik-et cannot perform.
Development Thread: N/A
Intent: Provide the One Sith and Titan Industries with (so far) their only Coralskipper submission.

[member="Raziel"], I fixed a grammatical error in the last sentence of the description (at the end) to avoid confusion.

It's always up to the writers involved, but how do you think this would compare with a standard Chaos fighter in terms of defenses and armaments? The coral skippers of the past came out very wel against old x-wings and only had 2 weapons.

It is somewhat more sluggish in terms of combat against the standard crop of super-fast, super-maneuverable, fighters, but its armaments are intended to cripple. In essence, it trades off the speed and such that a fighter or standard coralskipper has for superior firepower. If a standard X-Wing equivalent, for example, were to face such a ship it would be entirely on the skill of the pilots of both ships - with a bit of an advantage for the starfighter due to both shields and speed.
