Gravity' a queen

Gravity's a queen

In the Stargo Defense Enterprise laboratories on Antecedent a new type of weapon was being developed. Something that would shoot past those pesky things like force barriers or armor and do the job of killing or trapping people. Again standing over a team of engineers was the Vice President of the Red Ravens, Patricia Susan Garter, wearing her infamous red dress that she was quite well known for.

Bellow her the team of engineers lead by a Robert Dalso were gathering various technologies and equipment to form their new weapon. But one thing stood out the most, a small but powerful gravity field generator. It was the cornerstone to this weapon and it would be a weapon that could help change warfare in the galaxy.

The idea was simple, take one of these, gut it, give it more power and strength, then put it in a large softball sized grenade.

"Alright people, let's get to work." The lead engineer said as walked over to the work table to begin his job.

Patricia sat back in her seat and sipped at a cup of coffee, thank goodness since the last time she was here she had placed an order for gourmet coffee in the break room. Because that stuff was just the worst, and if these guys were making innovations in technology then the least she could do was get them damn good coffee and creamer straight from Far'Pando.

"Let's begin the dissection." The lead engineer Dalso said as he grabbed his various tools laying them out on the table in precise order.

Starting with the external screws of course the man began to take out the small pieces of metal one by one until he cracked open the case of the gravity field generator. The small but powerful device's innards lay compacted inside the round plate type case it came in and soon the man carefully began to pull out all of it's internal workings soon after discarding the shell itself to the side.

"Everyone take a step back, if this goes off we could die." The man said as he laid out the working parts of the gravity field generator one by one.

Taking the first few pieces he began to cut out unneeded pieces such as internal plating that helped keep it fit and snug inside it's old container. Afterwards he disconnected it from it's battery then smiled and wiped some sweat from his brow knowing he wasn't about to die from this creation. At least not yet.

"Alright, let's wire in the adjuster nob so we can set the gravity level. Then I want to add in a lithium battery to super charge the field generator." He said with a grin and began his work.

Beginning the phase of attaching a adjuster nob to the field generator to adjust the level of gravity the device puts out. Afterward he began to fine tune the gravity device so it could take the new batteries output and provide a field that could crush organics and droids easily.

Once that was done the man set the adjuster nob to the field generator and tuned it in, afterwards he set it down and looked at the pieces of machinery that was assembled around him. All and all the job was pretty simple, now they just needed to wrap the thing in it's new case and let it rock.

"New battery please." The man said as he held out his hand.

A moment later a Stargo engineer placed a high powered lithium charged battery in his hand and Dalso got to work with attaching the rather large battery into the device. In order to create a gravity field like the one they required the device needed a lot of energy.

"And we are live." The man said taking breathes between each word.

A little green light shown and the man let out a little chuckle for his success in properly rewiring and gravity field generator. They were getting closer to their goal

Patricia looked down at the team of scientists and smiled at the group of nerds, she was glad that she had them. She didn't know a gravity field generator from a particle beam so it was safe to say she would be lost without them when it came to cool technology she commissioned through the company. Taking a long sip of her coffee she sighed and let the warm liquid warm her in the air conditioned room.

"Get me the case." The man said and soon his words were made Into actions.

A decently sized ball was placed down in front of him roughly the size of a average cantaloupe and he looked at it with focus and laser precision. It was time to start fitting the pieces inside of it and then quickly testing it on a few targets. Grabbing the internal pieces of the field generator the man set them inside the small cantaloupe sized ball and made sure to pop the adjuster nob outside so the user could activate and change up the amount of pressure made on it.

"Alright let's seal it up and test it out." He said and chuckled afterwards

Placing all the internal components Into the ball the lead engineer began the process of closing the two halves together bad and sealing it up to make it tough. The padded Insides of the shell would keep it running under times of stress and pressure and would keep the internal functions lined up pretty well. It wouldn't be at all EMP resistant but it certainly was a start to something great.

Screwing in all the pieces together the man closed it up and the grenade was completed, though with the size of it, it was more like an larger softball that you'd have to throw like a shot-put rather than a actual grenade. But beggars couldn't be choosers and this was what they had to live with for now.

"Alright, let's test it out." He said with a nerdy grin then began to walk over to a range area that was a good ten feet away.

They would test the grenade's range and field generator, they were looking at a good six meter radius of a field and with that they could hopefully kill or disable most targets.

"Who wants to start off at full blast?" Robert said with a giggle snort and got ready to do something fun.

"It has a six second prime time so we should be safe when it goes off." Robert looked down to the device and turned the nob to the maximum setting. It began to quickly hum

Making sure he threw it as far as possible towards a few gel targets that mimicked human flesh and bones the device made a very loud hum once again then a loud and heavy crunch as the gel targets within a six meter radius of the grenade were crushed into a wet pulp of fake blood and bones. While they weren't cartoon levels of flat it was apparent that this could kill quite easily and had a good six meter radius to the blast zone.

The device itself was scrapped by the weight of the gravity it put out and the field it generated at max setting only lasted for a second at the most. But that was more than enough time to crush the targets beneath it's intense weight.

Every scientist and engineer made various sounds of fun and excitement to others being stunned silent by the sheer destructive force the grenade gave off. Patricia chuckled at the sight of the men giving off hoots and hollers, it was true about men. They never truly grew up, and they still loved their toys.

The lead engineer Robert quickly looked up at Patricia and gave a thumbs up, now they just needed to make another and test the settings.

"Alright everyone I want another. And let's make it snappy. I want to head home and have a beer." The man said and quickly the team moved Into action to start building a new one.

After an hour had passed they had successfully built a new grenade and they had padded the hull a bit more to prevent the device from being terribly crushed under the gravity it put out. It was about time to test it again only this time with a choice to capture instead of kill.

Taking the new grenade the lead engineer let a younger lab assistant toss this one. Setting the grenade to the standard capture mode that were used in most man traps the sandy haired lab assistant grabbed the grenade and twisted the humming noise sounded.

"Throw it!" The crowd said in a almost panicked but still cheerful voice.

The young man threw the grenade at the target zone and soon it made it's secondary loud hum and activated. A few large gel targets and a droid here and there immediately buckled under the weight of the gravity. The organic gel targets fell to the ground and were unable to move, while the droids that were still standing simply couldn't move their feet.

Patricia looked down at the targets and smiled at them, this was pretty cool she had to admit. The field lasted for a good twenty seconds then shut off as the battery died. It would make good for immobilizing enemies and making a run to cover, or just flat out killing them. It was something she could see do well on the galactic market and war with the sith.

Patricia walked down to the group of engineers and began to congratulate them and shake hands, that sort of stuff. It was a very good relationship the a Red Ravens and One Sith had, they fed off each other well by buying up plenty of their products and in return selling them across the galaxy. It was a pretty good symbiotic relationship and the two benefited from one another.

"Great work everyone. Let's start producing them in the factory and start kicking ass. Mister Dalso again it was a pleasure to see you work." Patricia said with a healthy smile.

Walking over to the man she gave him a hug and a handshake and then walked over to the nearby table to place down a couple hundred credits for the team.

"Drinks are on me everyone. Enjoy and get home safely." Patricia said with a smile then exited the building to go back home and more than likely do grown up things with her husband to celebrate the arrival of this new product.
