OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: to create and ultra light but extremely strong compound to be used in armor and reinforcements
Restricted Missions: N/A
Primary Source: also N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Name: Graphene compound (compound number; AC-87-DW)
Manufacturer
roduced and Refined by Theran Manufacturing (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/112049-theran-manufacturing/#entry1594063)
Homeworld (optional): N/A
Production: unique
Affiliation: Pax Theran
Modularity: no
Material: Graphene is made completely out of carbon and is in a hex molecular structure similar to a diamond's.
PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Classification: compound
Weight: Depending on how many times it's layered anywhere from lightweight to middleweight
Quality: depending on the experience of the metalsmith who refines it it can range from 7-10 with 10 being a very good metalsmith and 7 being a relatively en-experienced metalsmith
Color: black and in some cases gray
SPECIAL FEATURES
Graphene is semi-resistant is light sabers (blocks slashes but stabs can penetrate like chain mail
Strengths:
[+] ultra lightweight
[+] extremely resistant to blaster fire
[+] somewhat resistant to light sabers
[+] super insulator
[+] extremely flexible
Weaknesses:
[-] not resistant to light sabers stabs
[-] extremely susceptible to acids/acidic substances
[-] when seen on scanners it produces a much larger reading than usual materials
[-] extremely susceptible to radiation
DESCRIPTION
The Graphene compound was originally created by Pax Theran's (current owner of Theran manufacturing) Grandfather in the year 832 ABY. He did this to fill the need for an extremely strong armor material that's cheaper than beskar. It is nearly indestructible (sorta) it can withstand several blaster bolts and can somewhat deflect light sabers (can't survive stabs like chain mail). The secret to making it was never given to anyone except the Theran family (this is why it is unique). It is created jet black and is non-reflective. It is also a super insulator being able to survive over 20,000 watts of electricity.
