DESCRIPTION
The GPW-9 “Oathbreaker” was conceived as a surgical answer to an unsolvable problem: how to eliminate a single high-value target operating within civilian infrastructure without levelling the district.

At its core lies a Thermaline crystal engineered to resonate with a single genetic signature. During calibration, the crystal’s lattice is exposed to the target’s DNA, aligning its molecular structure in a process known as Genotuning. Thereafter, the crystal remains inert until exposed to trace biological emissions unique to that individual.

As the attuned target approaches, the crystal responds. Its internal temperature rises due to its resonant properties. This heat increase is read by an internal sensor array. Once the resonance surpasses the programmed threshold, the micro-thermal detonator activates, releasing a tightly contained but lethal blast.

Unlike conventional proximity mines, the Oathbreaker does not scan indiscriminately. Instead, only the attuned presence can trigger it. Its existence is tightly controlled within the Diarchy for the lethality and political implications of such a device.
