Good as Gold (Training with Sko'saht)

Sanctuary was a beautiful world, he'd give it that. Once a safe haven for the Rebel Alliance hundreds of years, it now was just another stop in neutral space. For the man who'd been a mercenary since his teen years, it provided a place where could go when not on contracts, that was until the Silver Jedi showed up nearly next door. Midvinter was far enough away, and that was what he was concerned about more than anything, [member="Thyrian Hearthfire"] and the pretender were nowhere nearby, they would not find him, not that they'd ever bothered to look. But he'd heard tale of the fraternal relation between Thyrian and [member="Thurion Heavenshield"], and the last thing he wanted was a Heavenshield showing up and trying to take him 'home'. As such he typically kept a low profile while here.

All that said, he bore no ill will against the Silvers, he'd made his fair share of credits protecting their interests and after he'd grown out of the dark and nearly psychotic days of his adolescence he'd come to admire their devotion for defending those who couldn't defend themselves. He could not be a Jedi, it simply wasn't in him, but he no longer held them in contempt as he once had.

After his most recent contract where he spent time fighting against some Dark Jedi leading a band of outlaws on the Outer Rim he'd come to a realization, or rather had one forced upon him. His bladework was far superior than it had been in his younger days, but the Dark Jedi whom had real training with the sword from a teacher other than drunken men and simple experience, had bested him with ease. It had cost The last bearer of the name Vi'dreya his lightsaber, and nearly his life. Thankfully he was as strong with the force as ever, and had smashed the man's skull with a heavy crate before he could be decapitated, and was able to walk away. In order to prevent such an embarrassing incident from ever happening again he'd sought out a teacher, and low and behold a Silver Jedi aligned Mandolorian Verpine, [member="Sko'saht"] had offered up its services.

He only thought of Sko as an 'it' because of the species hermaphroditic biology and his lack of knowledge on the Verpine's personality, not out of any contempt. Waiting on the landing pad of a small spaceport used to bring supplies and occasionally people to the world, the half-Umbaran stood alone, a black hood over his head to shield his more sensitive skin from sunlight. He'd endured plenty of exposure whilst nearly being murdered by the previously mentioned Dark Jedi, and in the days before the near fatal encounter as he tracked him across an all too sunny desert. Wiping sweat from his brow, the man patiently waited for his insectoid instructor to land and greet him, a sense of excitement brewing in his stomach.
