Language: N/A
Average height of adults: 1.5m at the shoulder. 3m from nose to tail (females are generally larger than males)
Skin color: Various hues of red

Strengths:

 • Capable of photokinetic cloaking. This is light bending only and will not protect it from thermal sensors, nor does it deal with the issue of smell or and sound the golka may make on its approach.

 • Adapts and learns from each hunt

 • Efficient hunters in both a pack or a pair.

 • Fast healing
Weaknesses:

 • Without a bond or proper training, in the presence of a ysalamir, the golka will go to any lengths to kill it. Even those that are trained/bonded are much harder to keep in control in their presence.

 • A Golka’s loyalty knows no bounds, if it's companions dies it will stay with it until death takes it as well. Separating them from their dead companion, be it a mate or a sentient, is considered cruel and it is far kinder to kill them.

 • Unlike their ancestors, the blackstalker, the Golka lack the strength in their scaled skin to repel blaster fire. They are vulnerable to attack from any weapon.

 • Due to the small number of original hyrbids, inbreeding is rampant and all Golka's suffer from a heart disorder that makes them more vulnerable to electric attacks.
Distinctions: Red hues and spines along its back.

Average Lifespan: 17 years

Diet: Carnivorous - can eat any meat and will ingest the occasional plant to aid digestion, nothing in particular is poisonous to them.
Communication:

 • Force Bonds

 • Body Language
Culture/General Behaviour:
Adult Golka’s normally travel in mating pairs, though some will create packs can be up to 8 in size, for added protection against juveniles during the raising of pups. There is no real hierarchy in these adult packs, simply tolerance of the other pairs. Fights often break out amongst them and are usually fatal. The need for added protection for their young greatly outweighs the risk of a dispute and the loss of one parent.

Once a pup reaches a 6 months old, it is abandoned and forced to survive alone. Siblings form packs for strength in numbers, developing their hunting skills through trial and error. As they roam, they attract more juveniles looking for security and the pack grows in number, often reaching around 40-50 strong. These packs are disorganised and and full of conflict as Golka develop and hormones rage, testing their strength and skill against one another, it is from these packs that the golka receive their reputation for aggression. They seek out conflict with adult Golka, seeking to kill young and old in order to eliminate future competition on a world where food is scarce.

As the Juveniles reach around two years old they leave the pack, and travel alone. At the age three, males become sexually mature and will start to seek out females who reach maturity at around four. They will start to secrete pheromones to attract males.

Mating rituals are a display of strength, with most females averaging to be larger than males, it is important that they find a powerful mate. Males must be able to defeat females in a fight. Many tactics are tried, some opting to stalk her like a prey and pounce, others choosing a chase, or a simple standoff. Those who fail to beat her are killed if they do not escape, their bodies left as a warning to other males, giving them guidance as to what she can beat, giving smaller and weaker males the chance to turn back.

Once a male has beaten the female and forced her into submission, they will mate and he will follow her. Fights will occur between them in the early weeks as boundaries are laid and the force bond between them is built, each fight ending in mating. The couple will remain together for life, producing young once a year.

During the gestation, the male will keep his distance, coming close to her only when she permits him to due to her increased aggression levels due to hormones. Gestating females produce a scent that others will pick up, which brings them together at times when they are weakest. The Gestation period lasts up to eight weeks and only when she goes to ground to give birth does the male return to her side. This is the only time that the Golka remain in one place for any length of time, becoming vulnerable to Juvenile attacks. Their dens are normally beneath fallen trees or in caves.

The parents take it in turns to hunt and protect the cubs, but after 6 months, they will leave them to fend for themselves and packs formed for protection will splinter and go their separate ways, leaving the pups to come together and fend for themselves.

History:
A hybrid born from a darker time in Mia’s past and a need to create something in our own hate driven desire to hunt all sith, the Golka are a hybrid born between Blackstalkers and Golka. Dedicating a vast amount of Miri Farm resources to their development she abandoned the Mandalorians in an attempt to reach her goal.

Working with [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] to obtain a small fraction of Vornskr for the experiment, a population that has grown continuously. The Vornskrs have become a part of mandalorian culture with many used in fights across the board.

Unable to obtain Blackstalkers of her own accord she hired Monster Hunters to do so and set to work trying to alchemize the creatures. However, after several failed attempts and only one successful creation that was doted ‘Shadow’ who became Mia’s companion, she abandoned the project, releasing those that had bred into the wild on Dromund Kass and letting nature run its course.

In the early days of their release, the Golka's stuck together as they explored the world around them. They stayed close to the Miri Farms complex but after several opportunistic attacks against the staff and the death of two, action was taken to drive them away, forcing them further into the wilderness. It became necessary for them to separate in order to find food. The competition for food, has caused them to be aggressive towards one another though some circumstances require tolerance and cooperation.

Her only successful alchemized hybrid was killed in the second attempt to take Coruscant from the One Sith. With the rise of the Sole Ruler [member="Ra Vizsla"], Mia’s own return to her people and her place among the Cuir Rekr, the time came to revisit the project. Her intentions to gather the Golka pups together and train them for war.

Notes

Bonds
The time it takes to bond varies from one folks to the next factors that may affect it could be masters experience in creating bonds, the golka’s natural highly strung attitude and willingness, males are easier to bond with than females etc.

To form a bond, takes a lot of work. Much like getting any hound to learn who is in charge, there is a lot of conflict. Expect to earn a few scars in the process. Golka choose their partners, not the other way around and they are aggressive towards those they choose. This stems from their mating and their desire to prove they are the strongest and most suitable mate.

While those who are force sensitive will make the strongest bonds with their companions, Golka have been known to choose Non-Force users , attaching to them in a non-reciprocal fashion and become loyal companions for life. If golka bonds to another sentient, it will not be able to breed. Bonds are specific to building a life long relationship and is not something they can do more than once.

Combat
The golka is more of a support than a direct combatant. A single golka will support its master, normally by blindsiding their opponent. More than one golka can be used to hunt and take down opponents as a group using simple techniques such as flanking and stalking, generally trying to use the element of surprise to gain the upperhand. It supports a powerful jaw which can lock once it has a secured onto a target. Its claws are supported by powerful muscles allowing them to deliver a deadly strike and they are also able to use their large tails as blunt weapons.

In terms of defenses, the golka relies heavily on its master to protect it. They are hardy creatures and will recover well from injuries.

Training
Golka pups are the only ones that can be trained, the first year of their life there are easily influenced and more susceptible to bonds with sentients. Separating them from their parents at birth and hand rearing them makes it far easier, but it is incredibly dangerous to do this due to the parents aggression and determination to protect them. Tail docking can also be done to decrease their aggression but this makes them less effective as war hounds.

I'd like for you to elaborate on how such aggressive creatures come to form packs. As I read though the submission, I was under the impression that the Golka would be competitive and aggressive amongst each others (except for their mates), more of the lone wolf type deal.

Additionally, I'm going to require another significant weakness. Camouflage and rapid healing are not offset by spite of ysalamir or extreme attachment to their companion. I'd also like for you to expand on what 'companion' entails. Their force bond master? Their mate?

I'd also like for you to explain the reasoning behind such aggressive and hostile creatures being open to domestication and being described as 'loving' and 'gentle', as that does not sound like the behavior of such creatures.

Since the creatures are hybrid of seemingly artificial creation, I'm going to need you to flesh out the general behavior and culture expansively. This will make up for a shorter history, which should be just fine given the circumstances. Natural mating and breeding might be a suitable topic, as well as their release into the wild and becoming independent from their creator.

Ok, I've combined Culture and General behaviour because it's difficult to seperate these in an animal and expanded it.

Added a couple more weakness, and clarified what I mean by companion and added a little bit into the history with regards to what happened after they were released.
