Going Tail Side Up

[member="Iziz Vei"]

Another client, another tech build that was new to Nyos. Sitting in his office, he finalized the schematics for the peculiar build he was about to begin. He sent out a comm to his new client, a Jawa of all kinds, should be in the waiting room.

"Please bring mister Vei to the workshop, I will meet him there."

Vei had entered the shop a few weeks after sending the custom request ahead, while the Jawa was used to junk, repair, maintenance and assembly when it came to more basic droids... this job was something that he did not have the technical expertise to perform itself, an extension of his own spine into that of a weapon which would give him the odds against another opponent, it would make up for his lack of size on some level and hopefully, turn the tables against other opponents. With his wishes he had sent over a shipment of Phrik from his mission on Gromas 16 as well as the lightsaber which he had attained from the late Alisa Kalor... Two resources which would be combined to make a potent stealth weapon.

Standing in the waiting area, a person appeared, looking to find the Jawa, standing still, well fed, and looking around anxiously for who to address, he had moved to one of the seats in the room, propping himself up so that his legs dangled over the edge of the seat like a child. When the heard the message, he levered himself down and made his way to the workshop, looking for the man who was reputed to be the authority when it came to these things. Credits on hand, Iziz was willing to pay the man for his services...

Then Nyos came into view, Iziz cocked his head to the left, holding out his hand to shake, which he assumed was a custom of the people here... using his other hand he began to type on the data-pad at his side, which began to announce in the voice of a young male.

"Honor to meet you [member="Nyos Val"]... You come recommended... So, about my comission?"

He asked showing some degree of politeness and respect, something which he had learned under beginning to be under the tutelage of Ferus... His golden bio-lluminescent eyes looking up at the man, analyzing him for any fault or sign of deciet... paranoia ran thickly through his veins, one was not a member of the Sith for long without being careful...

The Milenici assistant waved goodbye as he left the Jawa in the hands of Nyos. Nyos would reciprocate the handshake, as his metal hand outstretched to me the Jawas'. Behind him were Holo-prints of the tail slowly spinning as it awaited actions from a keypad. Not a single ounce of deceit could be found on Nyos, as he was a businessman of the people. Just looking to help.

"The honor is mine Mr Vei. And I'm glad I was your choice for this project. It has proved to be an exciting one. The last few have been exciting actually. You are just reaffirming my suspicions that this is my calling. If you'd follow me to the station behind me, I can show you what it will look like. First I'll need you to stand here for a body scan so I can map the procedure before I go cutting into your spine."

The cold chromatic steel touched Iziz's hand and sprung thoughts of interest toward the man's hand, though, he had not desire to seek out and quench his inquisitive nature, looking to Nyos Iziz listened intently to his instructions, it seemed this would be the place where he had his weapon attached. Iziz had a couple of hesitant thoughts and questions to ask about the whole process, nervous anxious and suspicious as he was about putting himself at the effective mercy of someone which the Jawa back home would consider nothing more or less than a mad scientist. The experimentation on the living, other than to afford them a higher quality of life or provide medical care was Taboo as a child growing up on Tatooine... though, that was before his family taught him the valuable lesson that a boy will do anything they can to survive when backed into a corner...

Iziz began to walk into the station where he was led by the much taller humanoid. His eyes looking up and around him, observing every inch of every room with a wide eyed expression of wonder and nervousness, like an animal in an unfamiliar area, making sure that the room was safe to progress into. Skittish, and un-trusting, but eventually, Iziz made his way into the room, no doubt beginning to weigh in on Nyo's patience unwittingly... But eventually he made his own way to the body scan machine, standing in place not sure if he had to remove anything metal from his person, his saber staff was still strapped to his back, the leather strap going across his chest as his eyes inspected the machine, his fingers and mind noticeably restless.

"So, Doctor [member="Nyos Val"] "

Iziz began to type on the datapad as the mechanical translator announced the words he would have spoken.

"How will this work? Can you tell me about it? How will it be controlled? Will I have to learn to use it, or will it come naturally? Do I need to worry about surges? How heavy is it going to be?"

The questions which left the datapad seemed to be the average questions which a patient would ask, though, he seemed to ask none of the ones about his own physical health, not asking if it would be painful, or how long it would take to heal or anything of the sort, as questions of that nature seemed to be missing from his vocabulary entirely.

Nyos looked at the little man, his apprehension apparent. With a warm smile, Nyos held out a hand for his gear.

"Ill need your staff and belt. So i can get a clear picture of your spine. I will pit them on my work bench over there and they will not be moved. My employees aren't going to steal them, I can guarantee that."

"As to your other questions, its a minorly invasive surgery, I will jeed to put you under for about twenty minutes to half an hour. Since it's attaching to the base of your spine, it will take about two weeks to fully heal. I have an MCD that will tap in at the base of your neck, that is the control device. You will need to learn to wield it, you understand, as it is a new appendage, but it shouldn't take too long. It's light enough that it won't need any special equipment to keep it up, but I put in programs to help avoid issues. As for surges, it can be damaged, but there is a separate, closed circuit power supply in case you become incapacitated. It will work like a wip, in that it is flexible and will take long, swooping strikes, or reel back and stab forwards using the extension to aid range. I'll install the lightsaber you requested into a secret compartment at the tip. Aside from combat, it can assist you in everyday life as well. If you can think it, it can do it."

Iziz gripped the side of the strap and rotated it off his shoulder, the length of the hilt itself was half the length of the Jawa's body, entailing rather than the use of other double ended light sabers, he wielded his much closer to that of a quarter staff or bo, the weapon also had some weight behind it which was gratifying to the little jawa, as many single sided light sabers had none behind theirs. Iziz thought about what was going to be attached to his spine, it sounded like the perfect weapon, though, he was physically a physically frail entity. Raising his fingers to his chin he had to think about that for a moment before looking up at the man with his wide open eyes. Typing on the datapad once again as he held eye contact, as if to fake himself saying the words.

"Would not the Forces of the striking tail pull on my spine? Or have you planned to reinforce my spine to be able to handle the extension? Slipping a disc because I move too quickly or get it caught on something would not be a happy experience..."

He spoke, before removing his datapad and placing it along with his light-saber, showing that, that seemed to be the last question on the creatures' mind, awaiting the spine scanning, Iziz took a deep breath and awaited any form of flashing lights or mapping lasers or X-rays which would be penetrating his physical form with the express intent of seeing what the Jawa had hidden for so long. His almost ferret like form, like that of a rodent hidden by his mask and long cloak.

It would put some strain on your spine, which is why I lightened the weight with titanium amd kevlar. I can also reinforce your spine with carbon fiber, that would strengthen your spine without increasing your bodies weight. And, in the event you are captured, the individual who would attempt to identify the source of your strength wouldn't pick anything up on an X-ray. As an added bonus, the tail is sectioned, damage would disperse between the tail's vertebrae instead of yours. You may feel a tingle in your bottom."

Nyos spoke as he dialed up the scanner and got a glimps of something few had ever seen. A slight grin appeared upon his face, with the natural curve the Jawa exhibited in his spine, the weight of the tail would be balanced between the tush of Iziz and the tail.

"Kevin, could you come in here please? Bring the Iodine and a syringe."

From no where, a Milenici appeared with a small vial and a syringe. Nyos took it and thanked the creature in it's native tongue.

"Alright, Iziz, could I have you come out, I'm going to add some Iodine to your spine. It will help me map the neural pathways of your spinal column. It may sting."

[member="Iziz Vei"]

To you it may be a tingle, but, I tend to fight people who could probably rip my spine out if they get their hands on me... So... that reinforcing would be nice...

Iziz confirmed wanting to have his spine reinforced with a simple affirmation to the cyborg humanoid, before looking up to him, Iziz could almost feel the light from the scanner run over him, he could feel the imaging penetrate him, it made him tingle, his hair stood up on end at the feeling as it gave Iziz goosebumps. But it was when the needle came towards him that he really began to get hesitant, from where words and plans began to take fruit into actions, Iziz didn't like the thought of being put under, but neither did he like the thought of being awake the whole time... Looking to Nyos, he cocked his head to the side...

It was in that moment that Iziz thought of something, a quote, his own to be exact...

Mumbling under his own breath the enigmatic Jawa spoke in his own native tongue, 'through suffering, I am tempered.' Though while he stepped out to receive the Iodine, Iziz began to type furiously on the board beside him, looking up at the Doctor with his own determined eyes.

"Am I able to make an odd request? I'd like to go through the procedure awake... without any pain medication... ? I'm aware of the pain it would cause, but, it would be good for my training?"

It was well within the right of the man to decline, there were certain things which could go wrong with a patient being awake during the reinforcing of his own spine, but, the focuse he could gain while attempting to control his impulses could be invaluable, and perhaps training to resist torture at a later date.

"I'm not so sure that would be wise. The pain of attaching the tail alone could knock you out, let alone the pain from me attaching carbon fiber to your spine. I Will do it if you are absolutely certain it's what you want. I'll just need you to sign a waver of "release of liability". "

Nyos pondered how he could avoid causing too much pain during the surgery as to not kill his pateint.

[member="Iziz Vei"]

"And if it knocks me out... then there's your sedative... I'll be still... but if you're worried, you should stock Succinylcholine in your medical closet, it's a paralytic, freezes voluntary muscles... I used to steal it on Tatooine. If you use that, instead of your sedative, you still get an easy operation, and... i get my training."

The hands of the Jawa finally stilled on the device which he used to ensure that he was understood, he could almost feel himself beginning to feel afraid, but it was a good feeling, after this, after he took this step, people would no-longer underestimate him. He would become strong, strong enough to be able to show up those who doubted what he was capable of. From whatever he went through he would rise as a stronger being, and if he could keep his focus through the procedure, he would come out mentally better for it as well...

I can stimulate the nerve centers of your spine and immobilize you that way, I will need to separate them anyways when I attach the tail and CF spine casing. It should be painful enough to train you without blacking you out completely. I'll keep epinephrine on stand by in case.

With that, Nyos walked towards the surgery room next door and began prepping the table. Kevin and his team were busy constructing the the spine of the Tail, as well as making the cast for the Carbon Fiber skeleton. Gathering the necessary supplies, Nyos made ready to cut into a Jawa and attach a cybernetic appendage to his backside.

Iziz followed, although a tad unsure about himself, not sure it he was meant to follow or if he was doing something bad by tracking the doctor into the surgery where everything would begin. Iziz didn't mind the idea of what he was posing, if it made the man feel safer, then that was something which was also beneficial, although he was a Sith, he was not one which would throw his life away senselessly on something like this if it could be helped, and a confident surgeon which would not be distracted was definitely a bonus in that regard.. But, Iziz still had his fears...

I'm going to be honest with you Doctor... I'm not comfortable with the idea of placing my well being in the hands of others... ever since tatooine I have been one to look after myself... what I'm trying to say is... this is... ... hard... ... for me... saying this, even more so... so... I want your word that this will be fine before we... start...

Iziz looked up at him, and his assistants, he hated feeling weak like this, and he knew that perhaps bringing this up would likely trigger a greater chance of them having thoughts of some form of assassination... though, there was the presence that was there to protect him... at least that would be something. It had been there for a long time, and still was, as well as Ferus being there to avenge him if he was betrayed by these men... So, upon hearing the doctors' words, Iziz would approach the table, beginning to calm, realizing that the table was set to their height, his head barely looking over the top of it, making him feel like a child... which made the Jawa grumble a little 'utini' under his breath...

Nyos looked down on the Jawa, his concern was understood, and well warranted. Although, Nyos had confidence in his team to accomplish the job without injury. It wouldn't be a cake walk, but it wasn't brain surgery either. Nyos smiled to Iziz and nodded in agreement.

"Don't you worry, I promise, on my homor as a scientist and as a business owner, you will not be harmed. Right guys!?" Nyos called to his Milenici crew. Their response was a cacophony of gibberish yes's and woots.

Nyos gestured to the table and grabbed his laser scalpel and splicers. Kevin held the MCD and Greg had clamps and swabs. Eric, Harvey, and Stuart were on the wings with various supplies to implant the MCD and wire nervous system into Iziz's spine. Off in another room, the Z4's and Z3's were working on crafting the carbon fiber skeletal attachment based on the scans taken.

"Alright people, it's go time."

Iziz noticing that they were not lowering the table instead placed his grey furred hands on the top of the bench, and with a single motion pushed downward. Effortlessly pivoting his entire weight, moving himself into a handstand before rolling out of it onto the table, swiveling as he came down so to be properly aligned with the table, from here, he would take his time to attempt to distance his mind and focus on his connection to the force, he would need all of his willpower to be able to make it through this operation without passing out, but, it was the first of many steps in training his body and mind to be able to tune out all distractions... It was something which was not easy, but, he did it in the end... Before they would make the first incision he was well submerged within the everlasting ocean which was the force.

When the operation would begin, Iziz would do very well, the pain on his physical body was nothing when it came to the incisions, or even attaching the tail to the small ridge at the end of his spine, was like a damp thudding on the wall of his consciousness, but when it came to implanting the machine into his nervous system... and the reinforcing of the rest of his spine was the final straw... The agony tore through his meditation shattering his focus and forcing Iziz to attempt to grip at the pieces as the operation continued. Though, through sheer force of will Iziz would last minutes, an impressive feat for having the most sensitive area of his body ripped through, before he would succumb to the pain and fall unconscious, Though stable...

Only to wake up when it was all over.

Nyos wove his fingers through the spine of the small creature, splicing the nerves and attaching the electrical components that would go from the MCD/Iziz's brain dowm to the tail. This oorocess would take time, it was dangerous, and if one nerve was out of place, it could paralyze him in part of the body or completely depending on which nerve it was.

Kevin and Greg worked on implanting the MCD into the base of the Jawa's skull, while Eric, Harvey, and Stuart aided Nyos in encapsulating the spine in the Carbon Fiber casings and drilling them in. It was a long process, and eventually the little creature succombed to the pain and was out. Greg moved quickly to hook him up to a monitor and would be in charge of keeping him stable. It shouldn't be an issue, but it was a precaution that must be taken.

Next step was the tail, it would be tricky attaching it without havin the Jawa's subconscious reacting to the tail and activating it. So, until he was certain it was ready, he would leave the power grid deactivated, then activate it remotely.

"Greg, bring me the needle nose and the splicer please."

"Bokah Big Boss."

Nyos began to splice the end nerves in Iziz's spine and interlocking them into the mechanical nervous system of the tail, which was laid out on a parallel table. This one would be tricky, assuming he correctly attached the nerves father up, these would be the starting point for the signal to send to the brain. Hopefully, that would begin to send the knowldege of how to control the limb to the MCD and the brain. Iziz's mind would probably see the tail as a limb it has always had and dream about using it. But that was just a theory...

(yeah, but thats just fluff ffor the sake of fluff :/)

Iziz, within the depths of his sleep began to feel like he was becoming more than a person, the additions to his body, although he was pulled open to expose his slightly fragile insides, he could feel the attachment of the MCD and with it, a bizzare knowledge began to leak into him, he could feel the swaying of a phantom limb, something which he had not had before, wrapping it around himself like a belt, it flicking and moving whenever he became emotionally motivated, some part of him had felt like it was always there, but it was not the biological side of him, something deeper and dormant felt familiar to the tail, to having one... just like this... Iziz could not put his finger on it in his lucid dreams, but he could hear a voice, a sound, something coming closer to him, words reverberating in his mind... affirmative words of congratulations, and that he was getting closer to some inevitable climax...

It would hopefully not be long until he could awake and view his new prosthetic.

[member="Nyos Val"]

(That's all Dev's are. Fluffy fluff fluff fluff)

The final step was in place, placing the secret compartment at the palm of the tail, where a space compartment housed the spare lightsaber inside. After all that, all that remained was activating the tail and MCD to begin the booting process. After a schematics run, Nyos pumped a dose of epinephrine to wake the Jawa up. Nyos left the room and set up the training room for Iziz to test out his new appendage.

"Bring Iziz to the training room when ge is able to walk. We shall test his capabilities."

Iziz woke up in a stupor, not quite knowing where he was at first he was hostile to those around him, waking up he rolled onto his front, growling at those around him on all fours as the images of humanoids came into view, it was as his tail whipped back and forward into Iziz's vision and he felt its weight and the balance it provided that he began to calm himself. Straining his mind to remember it seemed that his wounds from the operation had begun to heal though they were a long way off. He was sure they gave him bacta injections or something, but he would have to wait until later to see. With a guiding hand he was bought to a round training room, the grey furred rodent looked around,, taking his hat once again and putting it on before hand as he walked in, his shining golden eyes looked woozy as he could barely keep his footing for the most part, but he was slowly beginning to recover.

The tail behind him dragged lightly on the floor while Izizs' mind hadn't yet come around to controlling it properly, it was not second nature to him yet, and him mind had him basically dragging his feet along the ground to the location. Looking back he saw the tail, it was long, just as he wanted it to be, but he had no idea how to get it to use its weapon. it was like a hidden body function to him, but, by the state of the room around them, this was the place where he was going to be taught to use it. Without his datapad, Iziz spoke only in Jawa trade language...

"Ugh... i feel like i've been hit by a sand-crawler... So, doc, how does this thing work?"
