Description: Agent Gletcher is a gritty paint designed for adhesion to metallic armors especially, matte black in visual appearance from a distance but somewhat glittery upon inspection from a close proximity.
The oxidized Crodium of Gletcher, in conjunction with Carbonite's sensor-buffering properties, absorbs light rays--especially those of the ultraviolet frequency--and polarizes the coating, effectively camouflaging the vessel except when silhouetted against a major light source. The addition of Duraplast elements help shield from ions as well, and the Frasium helps retain the applicant's solidified state even in extreme temperatures, ensuring all forms of security against direct energy weapons and drastically minimizing location detection by infrared devices.
While not as effective as a true cloaking device, Agent Gletcher is a cheap and efficient application that will assuredly hide an outfitted vessel from detection unless an enemy is searching for it with discriminating thoroughness.
Agent Gletcher masks the presence of a vessel's hull. It cannot, however, mask engine emissions, and thus a ship camouflaged with Gletcher coating cannot truly remain invisible to sensors unless its engines are at low thrust or other sensor-defeating technologies are in use.
