DESCRIPTION
The Gladius-class Infantry Support Vehicle is built on the chassis of the Broadsword-class Medium Armored Vehicle. Most of the systems and capabilities are the same with the exception of the weapons loadout change and the shielding system. The Gladius-class is meant to provide support for Infantry in the field. It has a wide array of anti-personnel weapons which makes it excel at dealing with most infantry types. The Gladius-class Infantry Support Vehicle utilizes the same system as the Broadsword-class. The eight repulsorlifts as its main form of population. Each overlapping field can act individually allowing the Broadsword to operate with any four operational. Less than four will result in the instability of the vehicle and reduces control and movement. The Repulsorlifts of the Broadsword has the ability to reverse their repulsion creating a Gription field allowing the Gladius to climb sheer steep grades.

Defensively, the Gladius matches her sister, the Broadsword, and has an Alusteel armor layer covering its outer shell. This is further reinforced by impervium skirts on the left and right of the vehicle covering the main crew compartment, engine, repulsors, and ammo storage areas. An Impervium skidplate covers the undercarriage further protecting the important areas of the vehicle from mines and other explosives which could affect the vehicle from underneath Unlike the Broadsword, the feedback shield projector has been removed from the vehicle and replaced by a more powerful Deflector field. This has better protection but loses the ability of the feedback shieldings active charge.

The main anti-matter auto-cannon utilized on the Broadsword-class has been removed and replaced by a radial grenade motor cannon. This cannon can fire grenades out to a range of one kilometer at a rate of 3 grenades per second The sponson dual heavy ACP repeater cannons of the Broadsword-class have been replaced with a dual heavy Immolator sponsor. Two CR-28 heavy flame cannons are mounted on a sponsor turret capable of sending alternating cones of superheated flame out to twenty meters. The cannons will alternate firing to maintain operational temperature and not overheat the weapon system. The Gladius-class retains the Variable Ordinance Launcher Sponson of the Broadsword which can carry a variety to warhead tipped missiles. These can be switched out when not in combat and load out one type of warhead or a mix of warhead types. The loadout most often is a mix of anti-personnel and anti-armor warheads but can include any mix of the following warhead types.
