Session One
Coruscant
"Tell me, what do you know of Shii-Cho?" It was a basic question, and in some ways she felt it might insult his intelligence, considering the way his life seemed to revolve around training... But it was a question which needed to be asked. Asha needed to gauge where he was up to, so she could build upon it. The pair were stood within Asha's personal training-room on Coruscant, which was considerably larger than your standard dojo. To one side lay a table, upon which two glasses and a small food hamper rested ready for when the session was over. But it had hardly even begun, despite the numerous drills Jericho had already been through.
If there was one thing Asha knew, however, it was that there was only so far practical could get you, and likewise there was only so far theory could. There needed to be a balance of both where learning, where progression, was concerned. And part of Jericho's development was the necessity of speech... Hence the question. It required him to be verbal, to talk to her. So far she had barely gotten a word from him, and she understood his situation, having been through similar herself - the lure of silence was in many ways deadly, once you cease to speak it becomes almost impossible to begin again, and even attempting to feels suffocating, like you're sacrificing a breath of air for a pointless word...
Asha smiled, attempting to have him relax... Although she knew that wasn't what was making this difficult. Jericho was a very able Padawan, she could not fault him in his progression thus far, but often his understanding was lost on Asha, more than a nod of the head was required in many cases, to know whether a student fully grasped a concept or idea, and such was missing for their relationship. While waiting for a response she studied the Padawan before her, the braid he still wore despite Asha having sensed his indifference surrounding it, the attire he sported, Jedi in appearance only lacking the signature robes, after all this was a training session...
