Description:
What we have here is the latest of Silk Holding’s resource processing ships. Its ugly, its slow, but it is very specialized. Designed with two purposes in mind, the first is that of a salvager, able to arrive in an area that has been needing assistance from space trash, be it a fleet battle, or removing derelicts from space lanes and turning anything worthwhile into its base components. The second is to serve as an alternative vessel for asteroid mining. While this is not its primary function, it is a way for the spacer on the go to make a living while waiting for the next large salvage job.
The hangar bay allows for products that are collected by the tractor beams, reprocessed, and compressed to be moved to a starport, or purchaser, allowing the Gentes to remain in space. Able to be operated by a small crew, the vessel does host a large amount of automated systems which allows the ship owner to keep the vessel lightly crewed, running on a bare minimum of three, but at optimum operation, needing a team of 7 per shift.
The large hangar allows for many ships to come and go, but also allows for the Gentes to act as a search and retrieval vessel, depending on the job, as it can pull derelict ships in with its tractor beams, and transport them to the purchaser, or another vessel.
