HISTORY

Gelyra'veth Rys was born on Vortek'Ryn, not as an outsider brought into the Kresh'Vortek Ascendri, but as one of its first true native generation—raised within the shadow of the Black Circuit Temple itself. From infancy, her development was carefully observed, measured, and quietly influenced by the systems that governed the cult.

Unlike most Ascendri initiates, Gelyra demonstrated an unusually strong natural connection to the Force without immediate reliance on cybernetic augmentation. Where others required enhancement to achieve synchronization with the Black Circuit, she adapted instinctively, as though her mind and the system were already aligned.

This anomaly drew the attention of Technarch Zyna Morthus Zyna Morthus , who ordered her placed under direct observation rather than immediate modification.

As she matured, Gelyra was trained among the Circuit Seers, the Ascendri's Force-sensitive command caste. There, she excelled in both combat and perception, favoring aggressive forms of lightsaber combat combined with fluid, intuitive Force use. However, she never fully embraced the Ascendri doctrine of total machine integration. While she accepted limited cybernetic interfaces, she resisted deeper augmentation, relying instead on her raw connection to the Force.

This made her an outlier.

Among the Ascendri, perfection is achieved through unity with the machine.

Gelyra, however, proved something unsettling:

That evolution might not require it.

Her divergence did not weaken her standing—it elevated it. The Machine Oracle Xyraeth registered her as a statistical anomaly, a variable whose outcomes could not be reliably predicted within standard models. Rather than rejecting her, the system adapted, designating her as a Void Oracle—a rare classification reserved for individuals who exist partially outside the Black Circuit's influence.

In time, Gelyra was granted command authority over Ascendri naval assets, an unusual honor for someone who resisted full integration. Her leadership style reflects this duality: precise and disciplined when required, yet capable of instinctive, almost chaotic decisions that often produce unexpectedly successful outcomes.

Despite her loyalty to the Ascendri, there is an unspoken tension surrounding her existence. To some, she represents the next evolution of their philosophy—a perfect balance between machine and Force.

To others, she is a flaw in the system.

One that even Xyraeth cannot fully resolve.

And that uncertainty makes her both invaluable…

and dangerous.
