Gateway of darkness

Solan watched for a few seconds longer, watching the creature pull and struggle against the vines and roots and only when Werah vanished did Solan let out a breath. The breath was followed by the control on the plants all but vanishing. What was there was there and instead solan retreated into his mind and brought forth a few thoughts that he had been burying for a while and decided he needed in this moment.

Pain ad sufering were not easily forgotten and as an empath, solan felt not only his own but others. And the only way to stay sane as an empath is learning to shield yourself from the pains and the worries of those around you. There were several ways to do this, but the way Solan found most useful was to compartimentalize those raw emotions within his own mind and to dig them up whenever he needed them and right now was just that time.

So his hands moved to the sides of his body, each turning to face his palms up as he looked at the struggling creature and soon he brought them inwards before holding out a single hand. None of the motion was actually needed, but as part of a motion he did when every he used the power, he snapped. In an instant all his focus and power was sent to the wood around the creature as well as the creature itself, increasing the heat by the hundreds before finally sparking the flames that erupted. He had created a blast furnase with the creature at the heart of it, burning up in a massive pyre with it being trapped inside. He would show no mercy to it as he sat there and fanned the flames with his own energy and the power he drew from the creature's own suffering and the suffering of those he had locked away in his mind.

Werah closed his eyes as the blinding flames appeared, focusing on creating a force shield around the area, so the fire wouldn't spread too far. He began to reappear, but the creature had already lost, the flames swaring its blackened flesh, and it flopped to the ground splattering mud everywhere. He saw the glint in Solan's eye, and hoped that he was okay. He could see no physical injury, but doing what Solan had done could damage you inside. "Well...that could have gone worse", said Werah, "though we did have a minor casualty". Werah looked over to the cup of spilt tea, and grinned. "Stupid ancient terrors, always ruining your tea." Werah turned of his lightsaber, and opened his helmet. He watched as the body sank beneath the mud, leaving a blackened circle in its wake...

Solan was not injured, no instead he was in a high as far as his mental state was concerned. He sat there watching the flames as his empathy reached out without him meaning it to, drawing on the suffering, pain, and fear coming from the creature as it slowly died. His mind would do as it always did, archiving those feelings away for future use and he would need them considering that he had used a few of his more potent memories that had been stored away. He enjoyed being able to hold a being's life in his hands and he smiled as it died only for the words from Werah to bring him back to reality. It was in that moment that the power started to fade from him and he felt a lot more tired. Maybe he had over exhausted himself, that was a lot of work he had done.

"Ya, its a shame but I'm sure I can pick up a new pot and glass from somewhere on my way home... impressive work on the shield though I must be honest that it was little needed. I can control the flames decently. You aided, though."

"The air here is rather flammable. If a single spark had hit a pocket of gas, we would have been reduced to ashes ourselves. We were lucky that there were none here, but it is best not to tempt fate.", said Werah, sitting down on a ash-covered stump, and let out a deep breath. "So, how did you actually manage to do...all that", asked Werah, a look of inquisitiveness on his masked face. "That much power should have been impossible to control - yet you did. May I ask how?"
