Biography: Galon Vans was born into a small farming household. The only child in his family, Galon was raised to one day take over the family farm. For several years, Galon grew up in this caring household, not knowing the trouble plaguing the galaxy at large. One day however, when he was barely sixteen years old, a pirate band arrived at his families home, demanding that Galon's father turn over the farms harvest. Galon's father refused, and the pirate leader tied him to the back of his speeder, firing the engines, and forcing Galon and his mother to watch as he was burned alive.
The pirates took over Galon's home, as well as several other farms in the area, forcing the people to grovel beneath them, or be killed. Luckily, Galon was able to sneak away one night when the pirates were drinking, and got aboard one of their ships. He sent out a call for help. The next morning, the pirates found out what Galon had done, and as punishment, they blinded his mother. Salvation came a few days later, when at the crack of dawn, stormtroopers launched a surprise attack. The pirates were slaughtered in a few hours. Galon's mother, however was killed in the fighting as well, a stray shot by a pirate claiming her life. With nothing left to keep him there, Galon asked to go with the soldiers, and their commander agreed.
Galon would go on to join the military forces of the Warlord Zorja, a minor warlord by most accounts, but with enough ships and soldiers to be a threat. For the next fifteen years, Galon would prove himself to be an adept student, and would rise through the ranks. Eventually, he would become the second in command of the Warlords ground forces. Any further advancement would impossible however, for another Warlord caught wind of Zorja's passage near his territory, and seizing a chance, launched a full scale assault on Zorja's forces, currently mustering on the surface of a neutral world. In space and on the ground, the two warlords forces clashed. Outnumbered, Galon's superior officer defected to the other warlord, and Galon killed him. Taking command of the ground forces, Galon would lead them in a string of skirmishes, each a victory for Zorja, and forcing the enemy army to withdraw. Despite the victory on the planet, Zorja and his fleet would systematically destroyed, stranding the ground forces. With little other choice, Galon was forced to steal landing craft and freighters, leading what few forces he could away.
On the run, the small fleet would eventually arrive at the borders of the fledgling Imperial Remnant. Seeing a chance for a new life, and a cause he could believe in again, Galon pledged his loyalty to the Imperial Remnant. He quickly rose to become a High General within the Imperial Military, his experience and conviction for the cause clearing the path for him.
Strengths and Weaknesses, and Personality:
When it comes to planetary combat, Galon is considered exemplary. He is able to adapt to rapidly changing scenarios, and has rarely ever been defeated. When he is deployed against an enemy, he rarely takes prisoners, considering those who surrender rather than fight to be worthless scum in his eyes. He does however have resentment towards needless civilian deaths, and has often gone to great lengths to avoid this outcome.
Galon is prone to mood swings, and anxiety attacks, due to the issues he faced when he was younger. This has sometimes led him to make poor decisions, or lash out at those near him, leading him to become a solitary figure with few friends. As well, Galon has no patience or mind for politics, and this has led him to become a political outsider. This doesn't bother him all that much however, as he prefers to remain in the realm of the military more than politics.
