Weaknesses:
Overconfidence: Because he was literally "born" to do the work he does, he sees himself as a cut above the regular bounty hunters and smugglers that are out and about.
Code of Honor: Like many Glaucus, the Arterius clan, despite their seedy nature, do in fact have a Code of Honor and follow it to a T. This however, often leaves him vulnerable to counter attacks and manipulation.
Inability to Swim: He can't swim. What's so wrong with that?!

BIOGRAPHY:
Galen was born on Tatooine to the large Arterius clan. Though not incredibly rich, the clan was much more well off than many other inhabitants of the planet and had a large amount of influence in the happenings on the giant desert world. This was due to their connection local crime lords as a family run Cartel. As the third son of the Arterius clan head, it was expected that Galen become a part of the family business. From a young age his skills were honed in order to capture those that would defy the Arterius clan and the local crime lords. An enforcer of sorts. He was taught to fly, shoot and slice, all to varying degrees as his mentor saw fit.
When Galen turned 18 he began to work and has been working ever since as a smuggler and a bounty hunter for crime lords all over the Galaxy, expanding the Cartel's reach. A few years into his "freelance" smuggling career, his father was assassinated by the Hutts on Tatooine for crossing a local lord, nearly destroying centuries of credibility. The Second son took on the mantel of Clan Head and the first son took the opportunity to leave his life of crime behind. Galen was promoted to a top Lieutenant in the Cartel, but turned down the offer, his love for the stars far outweighing any sort of love of credits.
It was around this time that he began running guns and spice for the Hutt Cartel, but after his father's betrayal, he was hard pressed to find any sort of work outside of the Arterius Cartel in the Southern Systems for years. However, internal power struggles within the Hutt Cartel weakened its hold on the Southern Systems and Galen's older brother took this chance to assert his dominance over the Hutts of Tatooine. As the Hutts ripped each other apart on Nal Hutta, the Arterius Clan attacked a Hutt compound, killing the Hutt leader there and became the Arterius Cartel and the Black Suns took over much of the Hutt's territory. With the Hutts more or less disbanded and the Arterius Cartel strong in the Tatooine system. After the fall of the Hutts he started running with the Black Suns as a smuggler and transporter for hire. It was his brother's idea, to spread the Arterius name through the crime world, though to what end he could not be sure.
It wasn't until he was contacted by The Underground that he had the courage to break away from his brother's grasp and carve his own path in the stars and fight in his own way for what he thought was right. His brother took this as an insult to the Cartel, now fueled by a power hungry rage and ordered his brother killed. It was made to look like an accident. On a gun run to a Sith controlled planet, his ship was meddled with, causing his engines to blow much quicker than they were supposed to. His hyperdrive was also sabotaged and so after escaping from the Sith, his ship was beset upon by Arterius enforcers. He barley escaped with his life and ship intact.
Seeking sanctuary he became an official member of The Underground. With the payment from his last job he repaired and upgraded his ship and was back in the stars.
