Movement Capabilities - Whatever vehicle using this item can benefit from the power generated from it, so long as it is touched by the sun. However, lighter vehicles, such as ships used on the oceans, can also benefit from this power for anything and also use the sails traditionally, for sailing.
Strong Resistance - With Armoweave and Hypercloth, the sails prevent natural tearing and resist most forms of natural damage, weapons-based excluded.
Strengths:
- Low-Cost, Low-Grade - The items used to make the solar sail are easy to come by, sometimes easily manufactured locally. Of course, with higher tech standards in reach required for large-scale production.
- Low Power Generation - While it is cheap and efficient, it only provides a low amount of power. Anything larger than 150 meters using Solar Sails as its primary power source will short-circuit the sails due to the power requirements. They also can not be used for modern/high-tech vehicles or vessels unless localized to a single system and not spanning the ship.
Galderra Solar Sails, being name-branded from their location of creation, were made in the high-tech Galaxy, but made for the low-cost, and low-tech world of Galderra and others. It is cheap and efficient, and quick to make. It can be used to power multiple things in need of such power to push something along or keep it running. Exceptionally useful on carts or small forms of transportation with low-tech standards. A large Flag, even, made of Galderra Solar Sails could be used to power a small, stationary, holonet station. However, the sails themselves need to be powered to transfer the power they gain, and as such, too much length of Galderra Solar Sails would end up draining themselves, and not work. Galderra Solar Sails were primarily made as an upgrade to standard or traditional sails as a form of power over large and bulky generators that constantly require fuel or maintenance, which they in turn take up a large amount of cargo space in general. Solar Sails are light-weight and easily carried by a single average humanoid, depending on the sails length.
