Intent: To provide a Scientific Research Vessel capable of producing both medical consumables as well as being capable of internally remaking the vessel to suit the situation in which the vessel would be needed. Furthermore it would provide a secure and mobile residence for the Thissipasian Black Sun member; Amrit Devi. Which will serve as a personal lab for the development of new medical treatments and narcotics for Black Sun to utilize and mass produce.

The Gahenna Class Core Ship is designed off of its predecessors utilized by the Confederacy of Independent Systems in the earlier Clone Wars. Taking its name from the Gahenna vessel; which was a retrofitted Core Ship serving as a science vessel. The Gahenna class is a Research vessel built specifically for the sole use a Scientific Research vessel with the capability of internal modularity which provides a capability for the vessel to be redesigned and outfitted internally for a specific and direct purpose as to allow the vessel to be suited for the situation it may come across. Likewise it is a lumbering vessel, slower than most and incapable of rapid movements. This lack in speed is a large weakness for the vessel, as it must rely more heavily on its hyperdrive for escapes.
However the vessel boasts a formidable armament of weapons designed to protect the vessel from starfighters and smaller corvettes and frigates; as it is incapable of lasting in a long drawn out fight. The vessels internal design and structure allows for the installment of multiple bacta tanks, while also capable of holding thousands of gallons in reserve for later use. While also being equipped with multiple science labs and a greenhouse capable of growing various flora from a variety of planets in order to aid in medical research.
Likewise the vessel is also capable of being used as a mobile development lab; capable of producing either medical consumables in the forms of medipacks, or the labs can be refitted to produce a variety of narcotics. With its ability to hold consumables for up to six months, it permits the vessel to remain moving and active in order to protect the research or production that is undergoing on the vessel at the time.
