(-) As a natural Cathar, Gabe is easily triggered. With an incredible passion and temper, it can be difficult to calm him once provoked.

APPEARANCE:
Gabriel Vestex's fur is unique among his Cathar brethren. Where their coats range from brown to yellow, Gabe's has a smoke black pigmentation and sharply contrasts with his eyes of molten gold. Though striking, his features are made subtle by his sullen and brooding demeanor. His look has become ragged with time - his mane tends to be shaggy and a scar from a vibroknife lies jagged across his black muzzle.
BIOGRAPHY:
Little is known about Gabriel's early life. His story picks up when he was an adolescent living in the streets of Nar Shaddaa. Stricken in poverty, without much room for opportunity, he chose a life of subsistence thievery. Occasional jobs from the Hutt Cartels or the Red Ravens would net him credits enough for a few days of quiet refuge and food, but it never lasted for long.
Gabe's life turned around when he met another child vagabond - a young girl named Lara Straife. They soon became friends and shared their destitute life together. For him it was easier living on the streets when you had another to watch your back. Gabe even became her de facto guardian. Though not entirely content, he was more than glad to have a friend; one whose existence gave him some purpose, being her sole guardian and protector.
But things took a turn for the worse. Everything was fine until a rogue Jedi by the name of Lok Jorun came into the picture. Lara, the starry-eyed ball of hope that she was, saw him struggling against Cartel members and sprang into action. Through a series of events the pair became separated. Gabriel was foggy about the details, believing in the possibility that the rogue Jedi kidnapped her, though he also entertained the possibility that she just left - took the first opportunity off the planet that she could. He couldn't exactly blame her. Regardless, he never saw her again.
Gabe was forced back into his life of destitution alone, prepared to become a wino or a tool of one of the Cartels, if he had to. Fortunately, that was not to be. Not long after Lara's disappearance Gabe's paths crossed with another Jedi, who discovered his Force sensitivity and offered the Black Lion a once in a lifetime opportunity. Gabe, initially mistrustful of the offer, reluctantly accepted and was taken back to Sullust to begin his Jedi training.
