HISTORICAL INFORMATION
As the Galactic Alliance faced increased urban warfare and counter-insurgency challenges during the post-Byss campaigns, the need for compact, mobile engineering support became critical. GA Urban Combat Engineers evolved from outdated sapper doctrines into versatile breaching and utility units. Trained at the Corps of Engineers Academy, these soldiers combine technical aptitude with front-line resilience.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- Unit Name: GA Urban Combat Engineers
- Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
- Classification: Engineering Support Infantry
- Description: Embedded within Alliance infantry platoons or attached to special operations units, Urban Combat Engineers are responsible for breaching, demolition, field fortification, and utility support in hostile environments. Equipped with GACA-14 Nemean Armor and outfitted with fusion cutters, shaped charges, and specialized breaching tools, they are trained to clear obstacles, reinforce defensive positions, and destroy enemy materiel under fire. Operating in four-soldier cells, they are most effective in urban operations, subterranean theaters, and sieges.
COMBAT INFORMATION
- Unit Size: Very Small
- Unit Availability: Uncommon
- Unit Experience: Veteran
- Equipment:
- Combat Function: These combat engineers perform battlefield breaching, demolitions, structural sabotage, and field fortifications under fire. Their duties range from clearing collapsed buildings to laying explosive traps to rapid emplacement of blast doors and cover positions. Though not frontline riflemen, they are capable of holding their own in close-range engagements. Due to the danger of their tools and explosives, they often operate in pairs or cells just behind the main push, ready to storm doors or rig charges on command.
- Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A
Strengths:
- Breach and Clear – Engineers are equipped and trained for rapid entry and demolitions under fire, making them ideal for siegework and building clearance.
- Technical Precision – Capable of sabotage, deconstruction, or reinforcement using heavy-duty tools and field kits.
Weaknesses:
- Limited Numbers – Specialized training and gear means these squads are small and often in short supply.
- Explosive Liability – Carrying detonite charges and power tools makes them vulnerable to detonations or splash damage in chaotic firefights.
