Estimated Population: Limited to Gündiyar; Approximately ??, with over 75% belonging to the Sarimsi.
Diet: Mostly carnivorous, typically dried or spiced meats (spices cover up the taste of meat fouled by the heat); entomophagous, with delicacies including scorpions and locusts. Günel do not have the stomach for uncooked meat, and Sarimsi in particular have great difficulty digesting anything too fibrous. The few fruits which can be harvested on world are mostly inedible to the species in their natural form, with just one or two exceptions, and are mostly used to create wines or poisons. Cacti are a staple commodity, eaten for both their nutritious value and the hydration they provide, and are the only real fibrous source of food digested by the Sarimsi. Tazira, due to the fertility of the grasslands they call home, have a greater intake of fiber and keep communal farmland, however they have less of a stomach for spices.

Culture: The Günel have two distinct cultures, the Sarimsi of the Shifting Sands, and the Tazira of the Grasslands; both are nomadic, however the Tazira are known for spending months at a time in one place during the sowing and harvesting seasons. In contrast the Sarimsi are said to be ever-wandering, even during their sleep.
Technology level: Below Average: The Günel lack advanced technology such as blasters and starships, and thus are regarded as primitive. They travel by land, on foot or via living mounts, and utilize crude weaponry such as spears.
