Funny Meeting You Here (Uther Weiss)

This was the first time he had ever seen her look so serious. Even during their duel, her lips seemed eternally curled in a smirk. He wasn't exactly sure why, but it bothered him more than it should. (They couldn't both be brooding, that wasn't cool.) More than that, he could feel echoes of that rage as she recalled it in her mind. Hearing her recount the experience, it sounded an awful lot like the way Sith Marauders went berserk during combat. They totally gave into their negative emotions and killing intent to become juggernauts on the battlefield. However, her response was justified; he would have done the same the same for his family.

"Not to pile on with more negativity, but you really should make it a priority while there's a break in the action. Can you contact him now?"

Talia laughed a little. "If I could, believe me, I'd do it. But, I don't exactly have his number. And besides. When we parted ways, we weren't on the best of terms. If there's one thing I know about Carter it's that he has a tendency to hold a grudge." She was glad she hadn't picked up that trait as deeply as Carter had. In some areas, yes. They were exactly the same. But in most, they were constantly at odds with each other back when they were still a team.

Having done some bounty work in his old mercenary days, he knew it wouldn't be that hard to find him if she really wanted to, but it didn't really sound like she wanted to, or he did either. He would leave it alone at that, especially since he still had yet to reconcile with his family.

"So you're at least part Corellian huh?" he asked, trying to switch to a lighter topic. "That explains that pretty mouth of yours." Since he had met her, she was very...open about her interests. While he was only half serious about stereotyping her, it was clear she was a bold character. Meanwhile could be her polar opposite where he would often deflect and dance around his own feelings, sometimes with snark.

The pretty little mouth Uther mentioned turned upwards toward her piercing blue eyes. "Oh, you noticed? Quite the keen eye you've got there." Talia locked her gaze with his, propping her chin on her hands. "So, where do those dashing hazels hail from, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Eshan of course, but this particular Echani spent much of his time on a freighter. For a while, my best friend was a little junker of an astromech."

Were they flirting now? It looked like it, not that it wasn't unwelcome. While Ossus wasn't anywhere near as bad as Roon, chatting with a familiar, attractive face certainly improved things. It certainly helped that she also wasn't a Jedi, while well meaning, some of them could be quite dour at times.

"Astromechs. Can never get enough of them! Not nearly as fun as Wookiees, mind you, but still loads more interesting than staring out at an endless expanse of burning balls of gas while you're stuck in a massive piece of metal. At first, yeah, that's all you need. But after a few hours? Ugh! I just want to burn my eyes out of their sockets!" Talia made a few exaggerated gestures as she spoke, making it all the more comical to watch.

"Were you banned from Holonet access?" he asked, chuckling at her antics. "Without the net and the books I downloaded from there, I would have gone mad. Actually, what do you like to do in your free time?"

Talia shrugged. "I SHOULD be banned from the holonet! The blasted thing never works for me, and I get so infuriated by that fact that I end up destroying the device I'm using to log onto it. Nope. Not a tech person, or bookworm, either. I like to get myself moving when I'm stuck in space. Sitting around and waiting for something to happen? Ugh. NO. I hate doing that, I HATE it. If I can't at least run in place, I get extremely irritable. So, I usually train myself. Or do basic workouts. Or play games. Anything that makes me get up and do something."
