From Prison To Captivity

Waking to find the world dark had been a terrifying experience; despite the fact that Eli could see in varying spectrum's was of no consequence, the difference was startling. Her eyes, however, were grateful for the rest. Only now did the strain kick in, her retinas aching as she adjusted to the shifts in light and dark. It felt like her head could split open at any moment, and the only way to soothe it was by closing her eyes once more. All that did was make her fall back to sleep, not a difficult feat for one who had been doing little else for a very long time. Yet she knew that this was one small price to pay for freedom, whatever that was.

The room she resided within was suffocating; it was by no stretch of the imagination small but it had so many things within that she didn't know where to turn or look, or even what to do with the majority of it. Instead she remained curled on the bed unless called from the room itself. And let's not even get started on food! That was a pleasure Eli had never been subjected to, making every mouthful extremely rich and delightful. She found she could not eat too much, yet she tried and seemed to like everything which had been placed before her so far.

The clothes had been a nice improvement, too; soft and gentle on her skin, she found them an odd comfort - even more so than the acquisition of a blanket to sleep under at night. Everything was so fresh and wonderful, no matter how many times she had faced them since being brought here. She was like a child, in constant awe, feeling a cacophony of emotions and sensations during each waking moment.

With a soft sigh Eli rose from the bed. This time there was no one at the door calling her out, instead she had done so of her own accord. Not knowing what it was to be 'bored' the girl was simply curious and had an aching desire to explore. Not necessarily the home which had been made for her, however, but further afield. But would the one who had brought her here permit it? The same rebellious nature began to arise in her, that which had shown its scornful face within the Warden's Office and bade her to fight against the authority which sought to condemn and oppress her.

Rather than worrying about the man she wandered to the door. She took no belongings, for she owned none despite the fact that many items had been brought to her. After all, Eli had no use for any of them, she knew not how to use them. Nor did she wrap up in another layer of clothes. Instead she exited her room and began to wander through the halls. The typical questions failed to enter her mind; where were they? Was there even a way out of here? Was it safe to leave? All she knew was that she wanted to feel the cool winter breeze upon her skin again, to breathe the clean air which resided on the surface.

But more than anything she missed the light which had surrounded her for so long.

Sunlight, she found, was more blinding than the artificial crap they used in Kiffex... Yet it was also kinder on the eyes when not directly looked upon. The halls were mostly empty, and whether it was luck or something else guiding her Eli was able to make it from the complex without running into anyone of importance. When a minor guard tried to gain her attention she simply wandered on. He had no authority over her, and unless he issued a direct command to stop or to return to her room she would not listen. The latter she could not help, it had been deeply embedded into her mind to follow such commands.

The air hit her, slapping her in the face with its icy caress. A small exhale was the only noise which left her, before she began to lose herself in life outside of [member='Jacen Cavill']'s little hide away. Her toes curled in her shoes, body visibly delighted to metaphorically stretch its wings. Her shoulders rolled and her eyes closed for just a moment. All manner of scents flooded her sensory organs before the young girl snapped out of her brief paralytic moment.

Before she could realise what she was doing, Eli was running through the city scape which sought to enclose and surround her.

Professor of Alchemy
Serenno. A sort of Oligarchy lead by Six Counts of Serenno, hereditary rulers that often had great power and intelligence, and an even greater wealth to occupy them. They were galactic society's elite, having a hand in more than a small number of the political and economical inner working of the galaxy. Amongst themselves relations could be friendly or cut-throat but always relied upon business. The goal of most men were to rise up the rungs of society's ladder, but to those at the top to be greater than one's peers was the ultimate goal. Here on Serenno the Counts were nearly untouchable, having the best protection, financial or otherwise, that money could buy. Even the men who could get past the hordes of automated and unautomated security would find the mere public spectacle of the attempt to be offputting. One didn't want to be branded a Count-Killer for life after all.

The rest of Serenno however? Pawns in the face of a larger game. No one cared what happened to the common man, making Serenno a perfect hunting ground for a certain Sith Alchemist. The Counts had a history of occasional Sith in their midsts, so logic would follow that at least somebody on the planet would be Force Sensitive and reasonably extract-able. He searched high and low for hours, attempting to find suitable test subjects but coming up short. Disgruntled the man headed towards a nearby food stall and purchased a nerf-on-a-stick. Sitting down he realized he was nearby one of the "Uptowns", where one of the counts lived. "Cavill" if he remembered correctly. He wondered if Jacen still had contacts there. Taking a brief look to make sure none were around he changed his face to that of a bearded red-haired man just beginning to earn his wrinkles. Once that was done he proceeded into the Uptown, looking once again for opportunity's knock.
