Private Fortune's Call

Onderon/Iziz
Midday/Partly Cloudy

Once again Shai found herself on Onderon. Luckily things were a lot better now compared to a couple years ago. The war had moved on, the people got their chance to rebuild, and she got some nice new clients for her smuggling. But with work handled much quicker than expected and her having free time she never bargained for, she was left wondering what to do with herself. Deciding to see what had changed, Shai started to wander through the city and simply enjoying the day.

Her aimless wandering brought her to a tent. It didn't look that much like some poor beggar's only home, though it had seen better days. Still, the patterns and decorations piqued her curiosity as she walked over to it. She had heard of these tents. Usually some con artist on the inside would tell their victim something vague and they'd lose their mind as if it was some kind of big mystery solved. Some apparently also used hard drugs to get their customer on the trip of their life to make it work even better. The latter was the option that sounded more entertaining, in all honesty.

She glanced around then back to the tent as she contemplated smacking her name with a plank. "Eh, kriff it." she muttered as she adjusted her T-shirt and entered the tent. Immediately she regretted her decision as she looked around the interior. "Uh... what's up. You one of those fortune teller type deals?" she asked as she sat down. It was a stupid question, though Shai wasn't sure how these things usually worked. Her pistol was at least on her hip in the event of a mugging attempt.

Inside of the tent was an interesting sight. Textiles and carpets covering the floor, with tapestries in indecipherable patters covering the inside of the tent's fabric. Though it's nearly indiscernible, there's almost a path one can follow along them, like some sort of story made up of dark rainbow hues, like a spiderweb of the cosmos. Various objects sit in display around the tent, from all around the galaxy. Mystical looking scepters in a display case, exotic flowers in pots hanging from one of the support sticks of the tent, an old republic era clone helmet, one belonging to a commando from the looks of it, sits atop the display case of scepters. That was only the surface of it. Whoever this was seemed to be quite the collector. In the middle of it all was a fire pit, the smoke rising from it going through a hole in the top of the tent.

The beings that inhabit the tent is as equally bewildering as the tent itself. Beside them is a perch, upon which a convor is perched, it's feathers a tone of brown and white, with wide red irises and pupils black as an abyss with silver specs dotted all about, making it as if it's eyes are like glimpsing into the deep vacuum of space itself. It makes a chittering noise as Shai steps inside, causing it's owner to look up. It was hard to discern exactly what the owner was, donned in a hooded brown cloak and a featureless wooden mask with blue lines starting at the top and going down over the shadow enshrouded eye holes. Through the top of the hood, two cream colored feline ears are poking through. They're sitting with their legs crossed, one hand, furred with felinoid claws, idly moving two kyber crystals around between her fingers, one red and the other blue.

After peering at Shai for a few moments, she tosses the crystals upward. They float over to Shai and begin hovering in circles around her, shifting to various different colors before they stop completely, both shining the color purple. She holds up her hand, and both of the crystals soar back to her palm. It's then that the being answers Shai, her voice obviously female, and filled with a deep wisdom. "A manner of sorts, yes. Take a seat, child." Was Shai a child? No, but many were children in comparison to the fate.

The tent itself had quite a funky interior. Shai had to admit that it was what she expected, though the amount of collectibles piqued her curiosity tremendously. But the tent didn't come close to the figure sitting across from her by the small fire in the middle. Shai watched the figure closely, trying to figure out as much as she could through the mask and robes. Definitely feline, likely a woman, though anything else beside that was lost.

The figure tossed two crystals over to her and they spun around her for a bit. "Uh... okay... this supposed to do something?" She spoke up, watching the crystals and the woman. Confusion spread when the crystals turned purple and returned to the woman's palm. "Does purple... mean something?" She asked her before accepting the woman's invitation to sit. "I'm not a kid, sis, trust me on that one." She grumbled, glancing around with a slight frown. She should have expected the whole 'child' thing, that usually happened with these people. Only difference was that this woman seemed more legit than others she had encountered. She never saw others using the Force for something like this.

She crossed her legs and rested her hands on her knees, staring at the woman expectedly. "Okay... what now? You gonna pull some cards out? Do hard drugs and steal my stuff? Or can I expect a knife in the back in the next few moments?" She asked her with a smirk. In truth, a good brawl would likely be rather fun with some petty criminals hiding somewhere outside. She hadn't had one of those in a while. But she had a feeling that it wouldn't be the case with this lady.

"What's with the mask anyway? You just ugly as hell or is it part of the whole 'witchy mojo' thing?" She quipped.

"Indeed." She cackles. "You love, yet you are not afraid to kill. That is what purple means. In fact, you enjoy it to a certain extent depending on the subject of your wrath, no?" She asks rhetorically. As she speaks, the outline of a sith empire insignia can faintly be seen within the flames of that fire in the middle of the tent before fading away just as quickly. "However, you are not here for a personality read. Any charlatan can do that." She waves a furred hand dismissively. Shai's next words cause the masked being to chuckle. "I'm one hundred and twenty five, nearly everyone is a child to me." Her voice sounds pretty good for her age, if it's not a lie.

When she sits down and asks of cards and hard drugs, the seer tilts her head. "Cards? Do people use cards to tell the fortunes? They are not versatile. How useless." She shakes her head before pulling a bag of purple powder out of her cloak. "There is the use of some drugs, but I will not be able to steal from you. If drugs are used, I will be using just as much as you are." She then places the bag aside. "Knives are boring. I do not use such trifling things for combat." Suddenly, as if Shai had blinked, the masked woman is sitting directly beside her. "I have other methods of...." Then she's suddenly once again sitting in the spot she had originally been. "...Handling problems. I am from a shamanistic religion based upon a group called the whills. Their teachings come with....certain perks."

She waves her hand dismissively once again when Shai brings up the mask. "I am actually what the galaxy sees as quite beautiful, apparently?" She almost has an angry tone as she continues. "Do you know how hard it is to tell fortunes to people that are flirting with you? Do you know how many times I've heard 'How fortunate to meet such a beauty' or 'It's almost as if fate brought us together' or whatever the fate pun of the week is?" The flames of her firepit are slowly rising as she speaks. "It is unfucking bearable." She states in a hiss, the black eye holes of her mask glowing purple for a few seconds before she takes a deep breath, placing her hands together. "But we are not here to talk about me, we are here to talk of you....However I will not be removing the ma-"

Suddenly the starry eyed convor hoots, and the seer instantly turns to look at it. "You're sure? Thank god, it's hard to breath in this thing." She pulls the mask off of her head and sets it aside, revealing those soft white cream colored features and vibrant blue eyes. She really is quite the pretty specimen of a farghul. "You are already taken by another, so I don't have to worry about being pestered while telling my fortunes."

Shai listened to what the woman had to say, but her mood darkened when she saw a glimpse of a very familiar symbol in the flames. She grunted and looked away for a moment as a frown deepened along her features. "If you're gonna be karking around like that, I'll leave. Kark off with that stuff." She grumbled as she looked back to the woman. She was relieved that the woman quickly moved on from that dirty trick and relaxed a little. Few people outside other Mandalorians knew about her history. The fact that she knew of it was one hell of an indication that this seer had some skill.

A faint smile crept on her lips as she dismissed cards and silly things like that... and admitted to using hard drugs. Luckily Shai was quite familiar with powders and crushed items. It wasn't something she was proud of but facts were facts. She was still mulling over the situation until the woman seemingly teleported next to her. Shai knew of force speed and those things that Jedi used... but this felt different. She didn't notice her move at all. She stared at her with confusion and then whipped her head around as the woman appeared in front of her once more. "How...?" She started, but gave up just as quickly. She wasn't ready for an enormous history lesson just to hear how the woman can do something like that. Things got more amusing when the woman ranted and raved about how people usually hit on her every time she took off the mask. This had Shai curious. Sure, Aerith Krayt Aerith Krayt was not the prettiest woman in the galaxy, but it was her personality that drew Shai to her. Either this girl was truly something breath taking... or she had very bad luck with who came into her tent.

Another confused look when her bird somehow told her that Shai was taken. She didn't even get a chance to ask before the woman removed the mask. Shai stared for a few long seconds before a snort escaped her. "Sis, I wouldn't go for you even if was single." She snickered as she studied the woman. "You'll probably run for the nearest tree if I tried something, kittycat." She teased with a toothy grin, her chops glistening slightly with the light of the flames. She didn't expect any reaction from the woman, she just couldn't resist the cat jokes. "Alright, sis, lay it on me! We doin' spice or what? Haven't sniffed crap in years so this is gonna be a trip down memory lane." She quipped.
