SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Crew Club - Where officers and enlisted alike can come for a drink, play a game of cards, listen to scuttle or listen to a few holoradio programs.

  • Redundant Shield Generators - housed near engineering, these generators kick in to provide shields when primary shields fail, secondary will take over until they’re depleted or until primary shields have come back online.

  • Traditional Sickbay - A traditional sickbay equipped with five beds maximum.

  • Unified Galley - Officers and enlisted share a galley / mess hall.

  • Security/Tactical Offices - Limited to one joint office, the security officers work to keep the ship secure meanwhile their tactical counterparts work the shields and weapon systems.

  • Bridge - Where the commanding officer and his/her senior officer staff monitor the ship’s vitals and lead their crew during battle.

  • Officer Cabins - Officers share their cabins, two to a room.

  • Enlisted Cabins - Enlisted share either four or six to a room.

  • Engineering - Adjacent to the shield generators, engineering houses the Fortan’s core and ensures that her systems are functional. (x)

  • Logistics Management - A limited few from logistics can be accommodated aboard the Fortan.

  • Sec/Tac Offices - Once more the departments are combined and are limited to one office aboard the Fortan-class Heavy Corvette.

  • Cryptolinguistics - Unique to the Fortan-class are the cryptolinguistics labs, for while the Fortan is meant to fight and harass a larger vessel, she is also able to decode or encode high priority messages or intercepted messages from the enemies of the First Order, making her well suited to travel alongside the Dagger.

  • Intelligence - Naval intelligence takes up station aboard the Fortan working to collect data and analyze them in the cryptolinguistics lab. Now with upgraded communications systems, both departments work closely together assist with wartime efforts.

  • Hangar - Housing only decoy probes, the Fortan uses them to aid in her escape attempts.

  • Electronic Warfare CM/CCM Systems - In the new age of war, one must always be prepared for the electronic side of the battle, the Vindicator-class comes equipped to handle such aggressions and to unleash its own barrage of electronic warfare as well. The primary function of which is sensor jamming. An effort to blind enemy sensors by overwhelming them.

  • Standard Warship Hazard and Damage Control Systems

  • Standard Warship Sensors and Targeting Systems

  • Advanced Warship Communications Systems

  • Standard Warship Environmental Control Systems

  • Standard Warship Tractor / Pressor

Strengths:

  • [+] Missy: Cheeky and clever, the Fortan II was given a much needed armament upgrade as well as an upgrade to her communications equipment. This plus mimic sensory decoys allows the Fortan II the ability to conduct Intelligence missions and fight against the First Order’s enemies.

  • [+] Exterminate! Exterminate!: Installed with the new CFE-G1, the Fortan II’s turbolaser system fires more efficiently with both improved rate of fire, and cutting power.
Weaknesses:

  • [-] It’s Smaller on the Inside: She still holds the one fatal flaw that her Baradium-missile storage sits beside Sickbay A single well placed shot to this particular spot could certainly spell disaster for the Fortan II.

  • [-] There’s Always a North: While the Fortan II has received a new engine that enables her turbolaser systems to fire more effectively, she’s also inherited the problems of the CFE. Meaning her systems could freeze, shutting down her main operating systems leaving the Fortan II vulnerable to environment until main systems are back online.
Description:

With the War against the Galactic Alliance now in full swing, the First Imperial Navy new that their fleet would need some work. Naval intelligence alerted Fleet Admiral Fiolette Yvarro to some of the new vessels that the Alliance had begun to unveil. Knowing this, she turned to her company Primo Victorian Shipwright and the Navy’s own engineering department together with the FOCIE. They decided to go back to some of Primo Victorian’s earliest designs, namely the Fortan.

Months after her debut, they realized the Fortan’s role had been severely underestimated. Discussions went on about moving her production up to minor or even mass. Each time the discussion was brought up. It was put down just as fast, not because it wasn’t something the Navy did not want to discuss but because there always seemed to be another fire to put out elsewhere. And, they were still rolling out new classes.

Finally, a young engineer by the name of Raleigh Montague approached Fiolette Yvarro and Commandant Fordham. She revealed to them several revisions of the current fleet, including the Fortan. Impressed, FADM. Yvarro invited the young Montague to join her at Bespin’s Cloud City Imperial Shipworks, and then Rakata Beta’s own CCIS where it would be established that the new Fortan II would be produced. GEHA who had previously sponsored the Fortan, resigned their sponsorship on the condition that the Fortan remain in limited production.

And so it was agreed. The new Fortan-class would have limited production, but the question came down to what to do with the current Fortan I. The answer was simple, a slow introduction of the Fortan II in some of the less critical areas of the nation. While the more critical sectors, such as Bespin or Hoth receive the new Fortan II right off the drydocks.

A great looking sub, as usual. However, the new template is a little less forgiving on Corvettes. You'll need to reduce either Defense or Speed down to Average. Otherwise you've got a pair of pretty distinct weaknesses that round things out.
