Faction For A Crystal [LotS]

Thesh was quick to follow after their fleeting friend, no wings to grace his steps just a soft footfall which made nary a sound upon the stairs. Her excitement was palpable, but the way in which she quietened them on their way toward the lower floors spoke of something lingering beyond, in the unknown. Who knew what that would be? He was eager to find out.
The heat was barely bearable down here, and as he quietly stepped across the threshold into that strange room he could see why. Great forges lay around, perpetually burning as magma flowed through mechanisms he could barely comprehend. There were crates of various resources, open and contents scattered here and there. No doubt most of the valuables had already been taken, stripped of this place when it was cast aside, but there were still things which intrigued him. Hunks of carbon-heavy rocks, akin to coal, were what immediately drew his attention.
With so much magma, what purpose did they serve?
Lost in such thought he didn't even notice the creatures lurking in the darkened corners of the room. Multiple eyes peering out at them, glowering and hungry. No, Thesh was already looking for a terminal which might hold the information he wanted. Each had come for obscure knowledge, practices cast aside for the simpler methods of nowadays, and Thesh wanted nothing more than to unearth the secrets of synthesizing.
To the right of the others, unless they had followed him in as far as he had gone in which case slightly behind them too, a creature paced forward. Canine in shape and size, reptilian in covering, its scales shimmered in the burning light of the room and a long, forked tongue peeked from between teeth as it hissed lowly into the air.
And it wasn't until it hissed that Thesh realized they really weren't alone.

His footfall was like a feather as the group began to make its way inside the cavern, with the naïveté of youngsters the group trudged forward. Dral let out a soft sigh as he made his way with the group, his eyes every scanning the darkness of the corners as he could tell the others were more focused on finding out the information they were looking for then making sure that they were in a more secure position.

Although he did not notice the beings lurking in the dark, he could tell something was off. Continuing to hobble forward on his cane he put his other hand on top of the staff, preparing for any danger that might face him and the group. Always having been wary he wasn't very suprised when a creature stepped out from the darkenss and began to confront Arcturus Dinn Arcturus Dinn , hissing at the man.

In a sudden flash of movement and a squeak the creature that was next to thresh had been decapitated. The crimson blades of Dral double-bladded lightsaber having a low hum as the energy cut the air. As more of the creatures began to sulk out towards the group he kicked out forcing two of them to smash into one another as he slashed and cut at the group as they sulked towards his party.

Alina Tremiru Alina Tremiru | Melydia Gold Melydia Gold

Darth Arkanus Darth Arkanus didn't want to go first, but he was the first to react. Alina chuckled a bit as she quickly jogged after her horned ally. It was good he was willing to help his fellow acolytes against danger. Arcturus Dinn Arcturus Dinn should of realized the threat sooner. Anyone else would of let him fall to his mistakes. But none in the group were the type to allow that.

In her hand her family's saber ignited. "Eyes up. There could be more."

Melydia Gold Melydia Gold

Catching sight of the reptilian dog thing, Melydia gave a wide smile and dropped to a crouch. "Hi there little buddy," she called out, reaching a hand to the creature. Her face shifted from a gentle friendly to abject horror as the creature was promptly decapitated. That was, well, severe. The other creatures seemed to think the same, all rearing up and gathering to attack the group.

She couldn't blame them, not really. The group was technically trespassing. And if some stranger had decapitated one of her friends, she'd likely react the same. Her
lightsaber flew to her hand, blade crackling to life, though she dared not swing at a creature. Rather, she used it as a point of focus, gaze pinpointing the larger of the creatures that now surrounded them. Both hand and mind reached out to the being, willing it into a more complacent state. "Easy now, friend. It's going to be a-okay."

Thesh had been foolish.
In his haste to unearth the secrets of this place, he'd put the rest of the group at risk.
Not again.
He unsheathed his Sith Blade and turned, watching as one of the creatures was decapitated, and then Melydia Gold Melydia Gold attempted to calm another. While he would not interfere with her attempts, he also wouldn't stand there and do nothing as the others crept in closer. He locked his jaw in focus, and hurled the dagger through the air toward one that was getting particularly close to Alina.
The blade tore through it, and before it could become lodged within the beasts body it was recalled without thought. Right back into his hand, as intended.
"More, from the west," he said, as he stepped back toward the group to ensure none could be readily picked off or separated from the rest.
He began to draw upon the Force, felt it swelling and surging through him.
"Make sure we get at least one alive," he added, feeling the mounting pressure grow within as he continued to channel the Force through his body, not yet releasing it, it did not make sense to wipe them out, who knew what they were... Some experiment, no doubt.

Choking the life out of one of the creatures, he threw its husk of a body onto some of its charging brethren before leaping to attack more with his lightsabers. The rage and fury coming from the Zabrak was unlike most had seen before, it had been a long time since he had gotten into a good fight where he could just let himself go.

"Finish them off! The one Melydia has will be our live one, the rest will burn for their impotence!"

His double-bladed crimson blades spun and cut like a crash of lightning, taking on his foes left and right. Creatures littered around the man as they had limbs and sections cut apart from the others, the husks of these creatures laying before him as he culled the horde.

The others flitted and shouted about her, some of which was likely very important, but Melydia heard little of it. She had eyes only for the creature, with hand still reaching out and feet slowly moving towards it so as not to scare the poor being. "There now, it's okay," she cooed, eyes glittering from amber to gold as she continued this mind-altering craft. The creature's would soon glow similarly as the connection, willingly made or otherwise was established.

"There we go," her hand finally made contact with its' snout, moving to stroke its head. The being flinched away at first, its' instincts in conflict with the current influence, but eventually it would succumb. "That's a good friend." The cooing continued moments more, until the creature fully relented, pressing its' head to her palm. Melydia's smile brightened, her eyes shifting back to their original color though the connection didn't falter. Such was proven when another of the creatures, one who'd temporarily managed to evade the onslaught her compatriots provided, moved in to pounce on the girl, only for the one now under her control to strike at their once-ally.

"You're mine now."

And more there was. Alina's lips curled into a light smile as she lifted the saber overhead. Then she was on them. Her speed had her ripping through the creatures as fast as she could. A mix of not wanting to be outshined by Darth Arkanus Darth Arkanus and keeping the other two safe. Melydia Gold Melydia Gold was.. Doing something. She'd read about it, but beast taming wasn't something she could do. And Arcturus Dinn Arcturus Dinn wasn't exactly the martial of the group. Everyone had their strengths.

She actually started laughing once the beast Melydia had been working on started to attack the others. "So that is what you're doing! Good stuff!"

Dral wanted to kill them all.
Each and every one.
Thesh, however, thought different. They were acting on instinct, were they not? How long had they been trapped down here with nothing more than whatever skittered in for sustenance? Destruction was all well and good with a purpose, but destruction for the sake of it was a dangerous path to tread. Sith or no, if all that they came upon was vaporized there'd be nothing left in the end but dust.
And you could not rightly rule an empire of dust!
When the next of the beasts came toward him, Thesh reached out this time with the Force he had been channeling and unleashed a stasis over the creature. More than that, it arced from the first to another who was also drifting toward him, and then a third. Like lightning it strung between the trio and held them in place and immobile. Drained them of their will as they could do no more than stand and stare.
His hand remained outstretched toward them even as he cast his gaze about the room in search of... something.
"I want these ones alive" he stated, narrowing his gaze as he spotted a cage in one corner of the room. His other hand, that which held his dagger, lifted and began to will it toward him...

maulbanner.png
He slashed through more of the beast, seeing Thesh out of the corner of his eye put three of them in stasis, only giving a slight nod he continued to slay those who would attempt to attack the group, not allowing for them to get near those who were in stasis, due to the fact that they might interrupt the power that Thesh was using.
Lifting one with the force he threw it against the other before going over and snuffing them both out with his saber, slicing them by the neck as their death fueled the power that was held deep within him.
"They're stupid enough to attack us, this is the death that they deserve."
Dral said this coldly, it was true, if they had let the group be then they would not be massacred by the dozens, the group easily taking down the beasts that lie before them.
