Ripley looked up, sitting up on her metal cot as the force field that made up her cell door disappeared. Lunchtime, she thought. She made her way out of her unit and joined the crowd of inmates shuffling down the hall. The events that had landed her in here two days ago played in her mind once again. It had been a normal day, one full of her shenanigans and petty crimes. She had managed to break into one of the large corporations that existed on Coruscant and steal their insider secrets. She had been put in contact with a guy who wanted to buy the information. When she arrived at their meeting point, he was nowhere to be found, but instead a large group of peacekeepers were waiting for her. This was the first time she had been caught, and the grey jumpsuits they made the prisoners wear did not suit her.

Ripley was herded through the lunch line by guards as various piles of slop were slapped onto her tray. When she reached the end, she looked around at the full tables. She hadn't exactly found a group she fit in with yet; most of those doing time in the prison were hardened criminals, on their second or third sentence. She saw a table in the back where a man sat alone and decided to join him. As she made her way through the rows, she drew many leers, likely because she was probably the prettiest thing many of these people had seen in a while. She finally reached the back of the cafeteria and laid her tray down at the opposite end of the table from the man.

She sat on the cold metal seat and began to dig into the tasteless junk they called food. As she ate, she looked up, observing everything. She made note of where the guards stood, what kind of weapons they had, where the terminals were located, and who seemed to be friends with who. She would need contacts if she was gonna get out of here, she was sure of t
hat.

Judd couldn't decide which food was worst. This prison slop or the Hutt banquet he had been forced to attend some years back. Both were neck to neck in his opinion at the moment. Though as he allowed the gruel to dribble off his spoon back onto the tray he definitely say less bugs in this stuff. So that was a check in the win column, right? Begrudgedly he accepted this decision and forced a spoon full into his mouth with a grimace. He let the slim slight down his throat while repeating to himself slimy, yet satisfying. It almost didn't work as he felt his stomach lurch. Taking a calming breath he reminded himself it was only a few more bites.

Just as he was moving another spoonful to his mouth movement caught the corner of his eye. A young woman was sitting down at the other end of his table. This was odd. No one in the prison dared sit near him after the tea cup incident. The thought up it made him look up towards were he knew the gammorean inmate was sitting. Their eyes met before a look of fear crossed the pig like face and he got up, limping his way out of the mess hall. Judd chuckled to himself wondering if the prison medics ever got the tea cup out. Looking back at the girl out of the corner of his eye he determined that she had to be new around here.

With a sigh of disgust at the food Judd pushed the tray and waved down a passing guard. "Oh customer service. Do you think you can do anything about the lack of music here. The datapad I came in with had a nice religious rendition by your wife. I helped in the creation of it."

The guard gave a howl of rage as he grabbed the back of Judd's head and slammed it into the table. When he lifted himself back up Judd's nose was a bloody mess. "A simple no would have sufficed." The guard turned from him and quickly made a hasty march out of the room. The Hapan let out a soft chuckle as he pulled his hands out from under the table, revealing the pack of cigarettes and lighter he'd lifted off the guard. Not bothering to wipe the blood away Judd put one of the thin sticks in his mouth and lit it.

Taking a deep inhale Judd allow the relaxing hit to take effect before exhaling a cloud of smoke. With out looking over he spoke to the woman for the first time. "So....what brings a pretty thing like you to an ugly place like this?"

The sound of the man's voice slightly startled Ripley as it brought her out of her thoughts. She watched as he harassed the guard and in turn got his face slammed to the table. As he rose back up, the blood dribbled onto the table, and her heightened senses picked up the noise of the droplets falling onto the metal surface. As he began to speak to her she blushed at the compliment, her face turning pink as it grew hot.

"Well, I would say bad choices, but I don't make any of those," She said, winking. "I got set up by a colleague, unfortunately. But he'll get what's coming to him. As wonderful as this place is, I don't plan on staying long."

After she finished the sentence she shoved another spoonful of food into her mouth. As disgusting as it may be, her species had a rather large appetite, and she needed to keep her energy up to keep her wits about her.

Ripley looked at him again, attempting to guess what he was in for, but she couldn't quite get a read on him. From the outside he looked like a hardened military man, but she figured the way he spoke would have gotten him kicked from the military in a matter of minutes.

"What about yourself?" She asked cautiously, half afraid of the answer.

Judd took another hit from the cigarette, flicking the ashes into his tray of food as he exhaled. He figured he had another three minutes before the guard realized they were missing. Best to finish this one up. The girl's statement about not staying long almost made him laugh. He'd been in this place for several weeks now and found it one of the tougher prisons to break out of. Not that he hadn't already found a way. But it still needed some planning.

"Oh, you know. I needed a vacation. The brochures sold this place as paradise." Truth was he'd gotten pinched going through customs of all places. The ID card he was sold wasn't as solid as he'd been led to believe. No doubt the rat was long gone. It would be funny if the same guy that sold the bad identity to him had been the one that got the girl in this place. Thankfully interplanetary cooperation wasn't much when it came to the Hapan Consortium. So even with all the biometric scans taken of Judd upon entry it would still take weeks before they knew who he was. At which point he would either need to be gone or it was back to home for the chopping block.

Taking one final pull Judd extinguished the cigarette in his food. "It looks like its spa day." He said as the man stood from his seat and started walking towards the guard who had come back much quicker then thought. "You come back for pointer for your wife." Everything went black from the impact of a stun stick.

Ripley saw the stun gun flash in her mind before the guard pulled it out. With a zap, the man she was speaking to dropped, his head hitting the table with a sickening crunch. That's gonna hurt later, she thought. She quickly finished her food before returning to her cell. She laid upon her bed, staring at the grey ceiling. Though she was no longer a Jedi, she was still very attuned to the force, and it whispered to her that this man could help her with her plan. Whatever she did, she needed to befriend the man and make him useful. She slowly dozed to sleep with a full belly, getting the best nap she'd had in a while.

She was awoken by the startling sound of the intercom. "Attention, inmates. Recreational time will now commence. Limit gatherings to three or less" and the voice faded with a beeping noise as the force field of her cell disappeared once again. She made a beeline for the open space and started doing body exercise. If she was going to blow this popsicle stand, there was likely going to be fighting involved, and she needed to keep her strength up. Some other inmates joined her, mimicking her movements and following alongside her. Apparently, she was the new PE teacher. After a while, she stood up, jumpsuit soaked with sweat and clinging to her body uncomfortably.

Ripley walked around the complex, trying to cool off. Before her time was up, she needed to find this mysterious figure again and at least learn his name.

Judd walked into the harsh daylight, his eyes still stinging from the night of solitude he'd spent in complete darkness. As much as he was sure the guards would have loved to keep him secluded Judd hadn't actually done anything wrong. Well, besides the theft. But the guards could never find the cigarettes and lighter he supposed stole. So he was released after the night.

Taking the contraband from a pocket Judd lit one of the smokes and walked to a lone bench on the far side of the yard. Leaning his head back the merc looked up at the traffic that flew over head. It would be so easy for a speeder to just land in the yard, pick someone up and take off before guards could react. No doubt there was a force field over the prison to prevent that. Maybe some automated turrets. No way to escape the easy way.

It would have to be his original plan. Exploiting the crowded nature of Coruscant. His planned time in solitary had proven everything he'd hoped for. The prison was under staffed. He knew Republic regulations required two guards when escorting a prisoner, yet only one did. He'd also learned that the guard on shift at night liked to take prolong breaks, leaving solitary unwatched for some time.

Judd took another exhale from the cigarette, letting the details of what he learned during the night sink in. A plan was already coming together in his mind. What he needed was someone to con into helping him. Someone that could easily be a discration while he slipped away. Someone how.... Judd's eyes fell on the girl from yesterday walking towards him. He groaned at the idea of his alone time being interrupted until it dawned on him he had that someone.

"I see you survived the night. Quit frankly the piggy was giving you a thirty look. I figured he'd have made you his new plaything by now."

Ripley had exited her cell earlier that day and found her way to the yard, basking in the sunshine from above. She had always loved the outdoors, though she wished she could take her animal form and run wild. Still, getting away from the dank setting of the inside of the prison brought her some joy. This was a nice change of pace, considering she had spent all night the previous night making herself crazy. She kept pacing the inside of her cell, harassing the guards who walked by, and she kept telling herself she needed out, now. When she awoke in the morning she had attempted to take a step back from it, knowing a potential escape was going to require patience, but Ripley had never been one for emotional control; therefore, the thoughts just kept racing through her head.

As her eyes scanned the yard, making note of things, as usual, she saw the man from yesterday enter. He had seemed to vanish yesterday when she searched for him, but it looked like the guards had spared him from further brutality. She stood up, walking quickly across the stretch of pavement over to the bench at which he sat. When he spoke, she was not surprised at all about the snide remark that came out. She rolled her eyes before replying.

"He could try, but it wouldn't end very well for him. All the men in my life have found themselves in unpleasant situations... of course, I had nothing to do with that." She said, offering up a cocky grin.

She plopped down next to him on the bench, trying to decide how best to approach the subject. She knew this man had more than the eye offered, and couldn't shake the gut feeling that he could be helpful in some way.

"I didn't get to properly introduce myself before that guard man-handled you yesterday. I'm Ripley," She continued, her smile growing wider. "I know you want out of here as bad as I do, and you're going to help me."

Judd let out a snort at the assumption that he was going to help the girl. Sure he'd made up his mind that she would be useful, but the statement took balls. Taking one last inhale from the cigarette Judd flicked off into the distance and exhaled the smoke. "Names are a commodity in a place like this Ripley. For now just call me Major."

He knew it was a risk using his rank while in Her Majesty's Select Commandos, but honestly how many military men held that rank throughout the galaxy. "And since I am apparently helping you escape Blondie tell me what your plan is."
