Hello all!

The First Order invasion of the Silver Jedi Ossus Hex is now LIVE.

Remember - keep it fun and friendly and just ENJOY yourself. Don't do anything you don't want to do, and it's not always about winning and delivering most damage that wins these.

Craft a good story, focus on an end goal not just winning, work together, and make me proud!

Any problems, you know where I am and I will help be the communicator to the FO if needed.

May the Force be with us!

Ok all - most of you know we lost the invasion to the FO.

They have strong writers, just as we do, and they took the invasion fair and square in the eyes of the RPJs. We will be curtious and gracious in defeat and look forward to the next challenge ahead!

Here is a breakdown of the judging and where we lost out to in the eyes of the RPJ. Safe to say another may have read it differently, but we can't pick holes in this - it is what it is and we are looking to get more in-depth feedback to iron out any issues.

SO. Here we go:

TEAMWORK - FO WIN
Both sides exercised solid internal teamwork. However, both sides also had trouble engaging with actions taken by their opponents, either by avoiding interactions, not reacting to opponents actions, or not reacting to attacks. It is important to ensure that in an invasion, both internal and external teamwork within the attacking faction, defending faction, and with allies are taken into consideration. That being said, the SJO made far less effort to engage with actions taken by their opponents, which in turn, affected story.

STORY- FO WIN
Once they got past their internal monologues, the FO characters took decisive actions in service of a coherent plan. Many of the SJO members spent the bulk of the thread writing variations of 'oh no!’ - or doing tangential things entirely elsewhere. Emotions are good; emotions plus actions are much more interesting to read. Story isn’t just a stand alone, it is intimately tied to teamwork, entertainment, and effort in crafting a story as a whole. The natural progression of the storyline takes all of the above into account suggests a distinct advantage for the First Order.

ENTERTAINMENT - TIE
SJO didn’t really do much, and a good chunk of FO focused on really florid ‘doom and gloom’ rather than saying much of substance. It felt like both sides were churning out posts they’d written twenty times before. That’s not a general judgment of everyone involved, but it certainly cropped up more than once.

OOC DRAMA - TIE
I wasn't wild about the veiled snark and poor sportsmanship in the fleeting arena, especially from the SJO side. It wasn't a serious concern, but it did catch my eye more than once. For the most part, though, things were civil and even friendly on an OOC level, and I saw no major, relevant transgressions. We decided not to penalize SJO for Suravi's drama way back when the invasion was first announced.

EFFORT - FO WIN
Both sides put in solid effort and wrote their hearts out. That said, FO stayed the course and finished strong, while a good chunk of SJO seemed to lose energy around the halfway mark. FO takes this category as well.

So pretty much a full 5 to the FO and we got 2.

I think it's clear where we really need to listen and improve on for future invasions. While some views are a little off due to RPJ perception of what was going on OOC, we are taking it with a pinch of salt.

However this is the feedback and the ruling. We either take it, use it and apply it, or we risk making the same blips with the SE. If we do, then we simply look at how we take to invasions and how we write a story.

Hope this is ok?

Please discuss your views BUT keep it civil and do NOT slate others - people can see this Faction page remember.

Thank you again for getting involved :)
