Flesh of Steel

Crimson red eyes starred through the large window before her, falling upon the world below. She watched the world carefully, her arms folded and held against her, resting beneath her breast. The world was bustling with activity as vessels moved to and from the surface. She herself knew that this would likely be the last time she saw the gem for a long while.
Pulling herself from the sight that had momentarily side tracked her, those same crimson hues fell upon the skeletal structure of a massive construct. A small sly smirk crossing her lips as she kept her eyes upon the outline. That would be her home soon, a world of Durasteel cutting through the void of space. With it she would be taking a handful of vessels, knowing that there would be little chance to construct more.
The vessel she resided upon at that moment was also coming with her. The Hera, the Amarok class Cruiser that her mother was so fond of. She hadn't even realized that she was standing in the exact same spot as her mother the last time she stood upon the bridge. with a heavy sigh she turned her thoughts away for a moment, not desiring to tear apart the bridge as she heard a throat being cleared.
"Yes."
She spoke, not giving a look or even glance in the direction of the male. She did not blame him, and no matter how many times she had tried to say otherwise the Colonel still did not believe it. He most of all had felt a heavy strike at the loss of his old friend.
"The Dread Wolves are ready. All units are boarding with the last few stragglers set to arrive shortly."
With a silent nod she stepped forward, her arms falling to her side as she looked through the view screen. Tugs, construction vessels and all manner of ships fell upon the skeletal structure before her. Soon the beast would awake.
"These are the waning moments of the Dominion. Today it shall be lain to rest, and the Raulynate shall rise."

While she was not as imposing as her mother, she still had the same drive that the late Duchess held within. That fire that raged within all those whom were members of the Magrath family. Crimson red eyes remained glued the the scene unfolding before her. The skeletal structures of the vessels that were to be a new home. Her hands moved slowly, slipping from beneath her breasts as she pulled them back. Holding her hands clasped within the other behind her back. Stepping forward her coat shifted slightly with its owners movement. Her heavy boots thudding against the decking of the bridge of the vessel.
Turning her attention away for a moment, her hues fell upon the world below as the shuttles began to ferry the Dread Wolves upon the Hera. It was said that of all the Magrath members, Almira was the most sentimental, and it showed. She was not willing to part with the vessel that her mother had often traveled the galaxy upon. Bringing one hand up, she ran it along the lip of the window, lightly tracing her fingers upon the metal.
For what ever reason she had even made sure that the lights of the bridge had been dimmed. She was still, truth be told, in mourning at the loss of her mother. The hardest part was having to explain to her young daughters why they would not see their grandmother again. Clenching her fist at the mere thought of that situation she had been forced into, the anger began to return. Rolling as a wave upon the ocean as it filled her.
"Are you ready?"
Her question seemed asked to no one, poised to the emptiness of the vessel. In truth there was only a handful of the officers and crew on the bridge at that moment. The vessel itself wasn't even ready, and there were still preparations remaining, though it was clear that she was not remaining upon the world of Avidon.

As each piece was brought up from the world below, Crimson Red hues fell upon them. The vessels moving slowly and carefully as their constructs were brought to fruition. The massive vessels would serve as the home to a new breed of warrior. A new force that was to tear through the Unknown Regions and lay claim upon the worlds. Standing quietly, unblinking as the work continued. The woman did not make a sound, not a move as she watched, merely watched. This was a habit, nay a trait that she had gained from her mother.
Almira had learned much from her time spent with the former Duchess, and watching was a skill that she knew was very important. One could gain much information merely by watching others. She need not speak, just listen and watch. With her arms behind her back, she slowly turned from where she stood upon the bridge. Moving towards the back, yet stopping short of the turbolifts.
Motioning slightly, she moved towards a large hologram projector, the design of the vessel slowly rotating in place. The read out showed what the vessel was to become. A city in space, beholden to none save its own master. Even if the worlds they were to conquer fell to others, these vessels would be built to hide their people deep in space until such a time as to strike out once more.
They were to be edens of their own, gardens and farms. Yet many would hold countless warriors as they moved from world to world in the Unknown Regions. A small smirk crossed her lips once more as she kept her eyes upon the slowly rotating figure of the vessel. Her slender fingers lightly touched along the edge of the projection as if she were trying to feel the curves and lines of the vessel.

"We shall spread across the void. Our eyes brought upon those worlds that languish in darkness. Fire shall burn them, and from their ashes they shall rise."
Her words were quiet, nearly a whisper as she kept her eyes upon the constructs that were before her. Watching as each of the beasts were slowly brought together. There was much to them, thus there were few. While she had wanted for more, she would make do with only three. At least for a time they would be enough, yet there were moments ahead in which they would require more.
As the Hera remained in orbit around the world below, her red hues remained upon the constructs as they came to life. The crews pushing themselves to ready the behemoths for their coming tasks. Each one would be a world upon itself and would support thousands that were leaving the world.
Just as they would find not a single Magrath behind, nay would they find a single supporter of the family. She was making sure of that, and anything of value that had to be taken would be loaded upon shuttles and brought with them. This was an exodus for the family, and for all those that would follow in their footsteps.
