The tournament simulation is extremely detailed. Every element of your starship, all the void beyond, each gesture and comment of your crew - it all seems real. Your starfleet is drawn from historical designs, the kind that still see use here and there in the Outer Rim. You command:
Your enemy has the exact same starship types. You've given all your ships their own names; naturally, they're better than the names your opponent chose for the enemy fleet.

The scenario is fairly straightforward. You have encountered each other from opposite sides of a gigantic comet. Enjoy.

OOC/ The battle will last one week, or until one of you concedes, or longer if both of you agree. If one of you fails to post within the first two days, a new opponent will be subbed in. Arisa will start behind the comet, near its tail; Zeradias will start in front of the comet, though not at risk of getting hit. You can assume that standard weapons range is about half the length of the image. You can also assume that the comet’s tail obscures sensors and targeting. Victory/defeat should be pretty straightforward for you to determine between yourselves; I'll pick a winner if both of you feel you've won.

The engines hummed at a low roar as the small fleet proceeded forward at a cautious pace. Intelligence was that their opponent would be of equal power, quite literally, with their ships and fleet composition matching that of Zeradias' to a tee. At his side in this operation was his ever faithful adjutant, Odion Black, who had served as his executive officer on the ISV Retribution, the flagship of the Iron Imperial Navy in it's earliest days.

As he stood atop the deck of the bridge, his right hand knew exactly what the fleet and it's crew needed to do.

"Cypher 2-3, Cypher 1. Dispatch starfighter armament for scout mission."

After a remark of acknowledgment, the a group of starfighters emerged from the furthest Nebulon-B frigate and began flying towards the asteroid in a wedge formation. As time elapsed, the fighters eventually began to distance themselves equally in formation with only two remaining straight on course. The other fighters began moving towards both flanks of the asteroid to obtain a visual on what might lie ahead.

The remaining vessels continued their advance in a line formation, Nebulon-Bs in the vanguard with Lancers on the outer flanks. The Ton Falk escort carrier was posted in the rear, offset to the right of the line, along with one other Lancer.

This was it - the calm before the storm.
